I loved The Sims 2. The simple truth is that I never got bored of it. I just created generation after generation. But when I saw this, I uninstalled The Sims 2 because the graphics are awesome and the SEAMLESS NEIGHBOURHOOD! I'm just looking forward to creating families again. :D

it's called "simlish" and it's been around since the beginning of the franchise. it's easier to have them speaking a dialect of gibberish than recording hours and hours of dialogue and maybe different dialog for different languages, and having the dialogue bloat the size of the installation several times.

Exactly, and most of the Simlish used in Sims 2 and 3 are transfered from Sims 1 so overall if they do that it makes an easier more smooth game development and the team has more time to work on the other more important aspects. They could make a Sims game with no talking whatsoever (no simlish) and I would still enjoy it just as much.

yeah. during character creation you can do a genetic thing also that takes traits from the parents to create the child. i did some trials with skin color, and that is apparently taken from the mother since the child of a black father and red mother created a red child, and a green father and red mother also created a red child.

newborn is a troublesome state and i would mod it out if i could.

They're higher quality than Sims 2, if you'll take a look the game or screenshots, but also remember that Sims 3 will have an entire neighborhood with all its lots all at the same time, so I think the graphics are actually kind of amazing.

Yeah Sims Online shut down back in Aug of '08, as you said it didn't really work...people were too busy taking care of their Sims for any real interaction with other people online.

Ironically enough, with the Sims 3 kinda doing away with the constant caring for your Sim it would probably work now.
