Yeah modern day F1 tracks suck. Its not the lack of corners, its the "open field" atmosphere of the tracks. It feels and looks like your zigzagging around in a corn field in Iowa. They need some real circuits that actually go somewhere. SPA and Monza are the most popular because their not the cookie cutter tracks that zig zag around in an airfield.

lol no it isnt. thats the difference between racing car drivers and normal people. the reason there athletes is because they can jump into any car and be quick on any track with a few laps. senna in last nights f1 race was not of the pace. he was up to the standard he just needs to get those few tenths. here in this video he is crusing. he could get that car into its limits but he dosent risk it. instead he would be runing around seconds of the limit of this car

They shortened the track because it was "too long" for the spectators in the stands however at least there were fans in the stands back then unlike at any of Tilkes modern circuits today. Also if that was their reason for doing it then why did they make the track in Bahrain even longer in 2010? Illogical

In my opinion it's another typical stop-start Herman Tilke track except with more character than the likes of Bahrain, but it'll be interesting to see what the drivers make of it.

A quick layout change that would make it more flowing is cutting out that silly chicane after turn 3, since it follows onto a slow FIA friendly hairpin anyway.

Love the grandstand complex at the hairpin before the long straight. The pit exit is different in a good way. But it lacks undulations and character. If Donnington was given more time it would have these. Greed by the powers that be mean there are too many "facilities" and not enough proper tracks in f1 these days.

Ignorant comments are common on youtube. I bet the critics come from people who have never lapped in their life. You cannot see any marshal at their posts and Bruno has got a passenger. Hence, he's keeping a very safe pace, especially the first lap when he's got cold tires. It is obviously a marketing activity and not testing or anything else. On top of that, the video does not give you any idea of the real speed or braking or acceleration.

man its not a slow track.. hes not driving fast because if you read the title it says FIRST F1 laps of Yas Marina. Hes never raced this track before as it is a new track. So he wants to be very careful so as not to crash and to understand the track a bit before pushing the car to its limits on this track. If you dont like it then dont watch it? And remember, the slower the corners the harder they are to take, so the more concentration they will require
