@bakugankiba Haha, yes, it is VERY popular in Japan from 3 years old to, say..., 10 years old, maybe? for both boys and girls. I would say most of kids around me that own Nintendo DS have new Pokemon DS game that has been released in Nov last year. It's that popular. Pokemon card game, Pokemon Notebook, Pokemon curry, Pokemon shoes, etc. Pokemon everywhere.
