I see your point, and it is a valid one, but I believe the original poster was referring to September being Swedish and most likely the producers of the song being Swedish as well (for the record - I don't know if they are). The mere fact that the language used in the song is English has little to do with the 'origins' of the song.
The pop-genre is quite universal and lacks the ethnic connections one thinks of when hearing 'African music' and 'Irish music'. =)

That just goes to show that she can sing and that she's doesn't just sound good thanks to the expertise of a sound engineer.
But then again she started out singing in a Rock Band so its not surprising she can actually sing.
