i think, it is a referring to the group of boys, who helped out sherlock holmes with information and assistence from time to time. they were called the "baker street irregulars".

@AnnaLalaDreams In japanese it is "Shonen-tantei" which literally means 'young boy detectives'. I think tho, that although "shonen" means 'young boy', it is like the english word 'guy' in that it normally refers to males as individuals, but when talking about a group it refers to both girls and boys.
