Il y a tout de même des similitudes entre l'hymne national de l'Empire allemand et l'hymne de la Principauté du Liechtenstein, ne croyez-vous pas ? C'est sans soute l'héritage germanique.

@hubbapop1 The French Germans Russians and Austrians where strong, but it wasnt until Germanys third empire (nazi germany) and the rise of the Soviet Union and United States Economic Machine that any other empire became a Superpower. Theres a reason the 19th century was called the British Century, because after Nepolian was defeated Britain was the only Superpower until the great depretion. And although the Mongolian Empire was the largest when it exsisted, the British Empire was larger in size.

The tune is used for the anthems of United Kingdom, New Zealand (one of its two anthems), Liechtenstein. It was used for that of Switzerland, the German Empire, the Russian Empire (1816-1833). The de facto anthem of the US ("My Country, Tis Of Thee") also uses it. Is there another country using it?

The tune is. Many countries used this tune for years on end. Not surprisingly this is the tune of the first national anthem. Not of the oldest, that is either Het Wilhelmus of the Netherlands or the Japanese anthem depending on your defenition.

As far as I know it was composed by the German composer Carl Maria von Weber, used as the finale of his ouverture "Euryanthe".
