Man I miss Marvin and the type of music the he wrote and performed. Michael is one of the few guys who could do this song justice.

Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and Michael McDonald are in a league by themselves.

I had no idea that Tammy Terrell died at 25 until this video caused me to look her up. She did an outstanding job with Marvin.

This song was definitely written by the team of Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson (who also appear on this video).

I love the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell version & IMO it's the best by far.

Tammi's death deeply affected Marvin & he mourned her for years afterward (he didn't appear in public for about 5 years). He was never the same after Tammi's death & this is reflected in his music which took a more serious, socially aware direction.
