I don't think they're connected. Three times seeing the dog and death... There's no way to prove it first of all. Second, you can't just predict its appearance like that. I saw it once and I had somebody with me. I'll probably never see it again... that was eight years ago. Plus, fail with the voice. As far as I know, the black dog appears randomly all over the place. It's a specter. Beyond that, there's no way to confirm anything... don't think it's an omen and I don't think it's demonic.
