The double CD CCMIX: Electroacoustic Music from Paris contains this track (full version), "Mycenae Alpha", plus a selection from other artists, including two pieces from Brigitte Robindoré that really deserve a wider audience.
Love this piece. The Mode CD of this has some incredible stereophonic sound that unfortunately can't be conveyed by youtube's mono settings...I highly recommend getting the Mode CD if you can.
why do people bother to come here listen to this and then make their idiot comments about "oh this sounds like cement mixers" or whatever.... i mean if you really didnt know what to expect from this video you're the dumb one here
@LackingLack0 There are many reasons. Maybe they have never heard any Xenakis pieces and wanted to see what he was about. Maybe they haven't heard this particular one. Maybe they've heard it but think it sounds terrible compared to a different version. Maybe they were looking up videos on polytopes and stumbled across this. Maybe they were looking up Cluny and stumbled on it. Maybe they saw a link to it from a blog or another video. Don't get so bent up over it.

his face is blown off?know i understand why he makes such a stupid music and it sounds so futuritic cuz he is invalid.guess a deaf person can make electronica too!!!
Love it. Xenakis is one of my top 10 favorite musical artists. Nice seeing him here. Smart guy. Noise pioneer. Check out my YouTube music videos of cheesey Casio slingings, tagged Vaspers and Str8 Sounds.

Because we want to check out why certain people like you appreciate this nonsense as being music... Curiosity is human aint it??

@charmand79 You can't "check" something like taste, understanding, sensibility, education. :)
You will not find any "explanation" here or anywhere else.

real art deserves a place in a world where they repeat the same so called "classics" and not just within musical spheres.
