Nah. All bad grammar aside, I respect John 5 as a guitar player. He's got a great variety of styles and techniques under his belt, and that shows in his work as a session musician. His tone isn't the absolute best, but he's got great technique, and shows his phrasing on certain songs and live performances. Plus he's a really nice, down to earth guy.

While my stuff may not sound impressive to the average fan of john 5 who tends to be imrpessed with speed and technical nonsense, I play things that sound nicer and are more fun. No doubt if he cut the bullshit he would be better than me, but he does that so rarely.

I enjoy things from all different schools of guitar playing. I think that playing fast is certainly one way to express feeling in your guitar playing. Your opinion is your opinion. If you don't like it, that's great, but he's very talented, and you should learn to be more open minded about the music you listen to.

I like fast music, i love fast music, but 90% of john5's music is nonsense. Fast is good, but when it makes so little sense, is overly technical, is out of place, or sounds cliche, I'd rather just listen to my own ass. There are plenty of good licks in here, and the ones I like are 90% of the time the ones at a normal speed.
