Yes you need a custom firmware (like M33), otherwise it will not work.

I have cfw 5.00m33-6 and played RE1 & RE2 with no problems well i HAVE RE3 with game iD SLPS01222 it did solve the problem but if you go back to the clock tower and exit out it freezes so dont save when you go back and have your lockpick ready when you exit the clock tower. Also playing next game have issues

I can't get it to work. I followed all the steps exactly (except I had to use RSPsarDumper_v3.5 cause 3.1 wouldn't load on my psp).

It freezes as soon as I pick 3.11 pops. No PS logo or anything. The screen just goes black.

Well thanks for the vid anyway, I think it got me on the right track. Is there a newer version of popsloader than the one on the link? maybe I should try that?... or dumping some different firmware eboots.

Try 3.51. That should work. Usually if it freezes when you pick the pops, that means that there was something done wrong. Trying again usually solves the problem.

Thanks. I got it working now. It was popsloader. I found one called popsloader elite that comes with all the files so I didn't have to use RSPsar dumper. Not sure which cfws pl elite is compatible with but it works great with my m33-6. Thanks for the vid I definateley wouldn't have figured it out without it.

The one that's GAME380 on the vid is because his firmware is different.

I have 5.00 M33-6, so on mine, it's GAME5XX.

You should have 3 game folders in the psp folder. GAME, GAME150, and another one that's name depends on your fw. Don't use GAME or GAME150. Use the other one.

i have to use 3.40 pops if i want to play resident evil 2 but when i try 3.40 the psp freeze i can only use the 3.71 is there a way i could use the 3.40 i've been looking to use 3.40 all day never found any answer

Basically, you have to do the same stuff as in my video, but you need the original 3.40 eboot and decrypt that. Then you copy the prx files that I have shown in the video, but instead of writin "311" between the name and extension, you would have to write "340" for it to work.

Is it a corrupted file image? If so, the EBOOT has to be in a folder that has to be placed in the GAME folder.

Back up all your data from the Memory Stick and reformat it with the PSP. The GAME380 folder should change to GAME5XX. Then try placing the Psardumper there. If that does not work, try the GAME150 or the GAME folder.

You have to copy the folder the Eboot is in, so the structure is PSP/GAME/(FOLDER NAME OF YOU CHOICE)/EBOOT.PBP

but i have a question. at the part where you changed the pops.prx and pafmini and popsman and added "311" between the file name and extension what is the point in doing this? will be able to play any ps1 game still? cuz i hear some games use different poploader versions. Can i just change the popsloader when starting the game? or do i have to go and change popsman/pafmini/pops to to the version i want to use i.e. pafmini371.

Yeah the numbers are important, but you can't change them to any version you want. The .prx files were decrypted from the 3.11 Official Eboot, and that's why we write "311". If you want pops 3.71, you would need to decrypt the original 3.71 Eboot.

You sure you installed pops correctly? If so, go to Recovery Mode, Advanced, and then Advanced Configuration and make sure the XMB, GAME, and POPS plugins are Enabled.
