  • SUBTITLES! PLEASE! For christ's sake, how can i remain an ignorant englishman without my bleeding subtitles!

  • @kafkafied The main ideas:

    - Man has always been trying to imprison or kill life. The artist endeavours to set it free. Every kind of art seeks to liberate life -- there is no art of death.

    - To do philosophy is trying to resist and overcome stupidity. Philosophy prevents stupidity from overwhelming us -- this is the nobility of philosophy.

    - It is argued that philosophy or literature or cinema are dead. (Deleuze laughs and replies that those are not natural deaths but murders)

  • @kafkafied

... Only fools claim that philosophy is dead. They argue such a thing because they want it dead. As long as the aim of philosophy, of art will be to resist stupidity, they will never die.

    - In short, to do philosophy is creating concepts so that you are able to resist stupidity.

    - Networks of thought (like the one between Deleuze, Felix Guatarri, and Michel Foucault) are like weapons against dominant ideologies.

  • @shakespearefr

Thank you -- perhaps i won't remain an ignorant englishman..
