i spent 4 weeks on the allagash...it raind all but 2 days. think on chinsonkook(lol my spelling aint to good) there we 5ft white caps, and we had to go with em in our canoes.
the wind was in our favor, but to get off the shore we had to cross the wind. once i got out i put a ten foot tarp on 2 paddles and steerd with a third, i was about 2 hours ahead of everyone else. iv been in the allagash caves, and did mud pond portage. iv been on a few canoe trips in the county
