  • Rip colonel potter he pass today at 96 years young.

  • @MrHeadshot1982 Harry Morgan was in the TV show, not in this theatrical feature. Peace.

  • this is a idiotic boring film

  • @rhod5566 Then you have no taste in films, you calling this idiotic makes me think your a fan of dick jokes/toilet humor films.

  • @rhod5566 your mum loves dick jokes ask your dad

  • @poridicle i can understand why male teenagers would find this film funny

  • @rhod5566 Yeah now that i think about it thats fair enough, although do expand on why its an idiotic boring film? I dont think this film deserves that comment because some of the humor is immature. I dont think this is a film for male teenages, its quite adult with its humor and satire.

  • @poridicle ok instead of calling this movie idiotic,i would say its full of juvenile jokes and humor. And thats the reason its so boring and dumb.Im glad to see that you at least see some of the humor as immature

  • Pauline Kael once said that this was the first American movie to openly ridicule belief in God.

    She might have been right.

Silicon Bong is also right. The script was unique in that it did not follow the traditional structure of plot points and resolution.

  • first time i watched this movie i hated it, then i watched it again and i loved it...it was wierd

  • the shows better, but i still love the movie. MASH is just all around awesome

  • this was the first movie that had the word fuck in it

  • Can anyone think of another similar US military comedy film that also featured female military personel?

    Around about the same era.

  • does this movie have any relation to the tv series or is this like with todally different people and everything else

  • The TV show was based on the movie but with different actors and characters.

  • The movie was for adults, the T.V. show was dumbed down to P.G. and it got pretty sappy at times.

  • The movie and the tv series are both set during the korean war. They both have almost all the same characters.

Although the actors playing them are different, with the exception of Gary Burgoff.

Wikipedia has a decent page about it.

  • i prefer the show...

  • It was rated R at irst, but now it's a mature PG rating. If released today, then it would likely be PG-13.

  • they let him say "tits" in the trailer back then???

  • Indeed

  • My favorite movie of all time.

  • It was a unique film, like none other that has been made that I know of really. There has never been a war/military comedy quite like M*A*S*H

  • Would anyone dare to make a movie like M*A*S*H these days, considering with the rise [and rule] of political correctness?

  • i'm sure they could manage something just as politically incorrect, or even moreso, but it would probably lack any real humour. so yes but no.

  • This movie changed how I thought about war. It showed the grotesque and the picturesque in the same frame.

The thing that 'sewed' it together was the script, and the way the lines were spoken.
