  • We Want KORTOR 3!!!!!!!

  • WHY IS THERE NO FREE VERSION?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • I give it a 9.25 out of 10

  • I really wish there was a day night cycle and weather :(

  • Lightning from a sorcerors fingertips??? What the fuck?? U meen a sith LORD i hope

  • God forbid u watch this video and make your own decision. Personally i play this game but im getting bored with it.. Weird they left out alot of features that really should be standard in newer mmos

  • How come i cant scroll out all the way is it my mouse?

  • How come i caa

  • gamespot fired jeff gerstmann for giving an honest review

  • How ironic is it that a trailer for the game came out as an ad before the review :D

  • 8 pfffffffff 9.5

  • this reviewer makes good points but i feel like hes just reading what he wrote down. his voice seems less natural than say greg kassavin.

  • Y U NO FOR MAC? :'(

  • @PozzBox cuz mac isnt really made for gaming

  • Wow or SWTOR? World of warcraft is not getting a patch or expansion untill mid summer-winter. So its just dragon soul up the ass for 6+ months.

  • @lemonia1894 wow is died to me and many other because of the bs content thing, i mean 15 a mouth for content that was recycled bull crap. for example 15 dollars a mouth and a new patch comes out like 3 mouths so im spending about 45 dollars a mouth and can you tell me that za and zg was worth is? or firelands? so yea for now swtor and guild wars 2

  • @hollow44771 - That's a lot of "mouths" .

  • i want this game actually scratch that i need this game :D

  • So does this guy like the game or not like the game?

  • I couldn't tell if the game was good or bad from this review.

  • Why can't they make the gameplay as fast paced as the Force Unleashed with the graphics of Mass Effect but still keep it an MMO.

  • Like I said, Bethesda should make SW KoToR 3. It would fucking RULE. A open worlded Star Wars game that's not an MMO with let's say up to 300 hours of content. O baby. I'd love it. Not hating on this game, I just don't play MMOs

  • So is the online like World of Warcraft?

  • @ImKoolWithThis It's pretty much the exact same thing...

  • @digitalfreak123 You have to pay for your account monthly right?

  • @ImKoolWithThis Yeah

  • @digitalfreak123 Well that just ruined everything.

  • @ImKoolWithThis Yeah, $15 it sucks, but its SOOO worth it

  • @digitalfreak123 I'd rather save that money for the gym.

  • My desire to play this game is strong!

  • I try it but i found it boring.60 dolars to the trash can

  • it costs as much as Skyrim which is a little high but i am willing to pay for it. But then theres 15 dollars a month! you wish!!!

  • 2:45 Bruce Campbell ?

  • Guild Wars 2 is gonna fuck up the MMO genre MUHAHAH

  • @FloydIV fantasy? no thanks.kbye..

  • Coming from a WoW player and a Star Wars fan this game looks great. I would play this over WoW, but there still are a bunch of cons. WoW has been around way longer, so they have much more trial and error, giving it the great gameplay it has today.

  • i bought it and returned it on THE SAME DAY . the fighting system is god awful . and the story is bland and repetitive . the best star wars games are always gonna be the ''jedi knights'' series

  • Man, can not wait for that not-yet-existent Mass Effect MMO.

  • The game does indeed seem like my perfect mmo, I just wish it had a more open environment like WoW.

  • @lildread1 it will get more content as time passes byø.

  • This was a really fair review that swtor deserves not anything groundbreakingly new and not the worst game in the world, just a good game. I had a hard time getting used to the game at the start. but now when im half way through im glued to the screen

lol. cant stop. The story arc is so friggen exciting!!

  • KOTOR Was a shit game, no offence. It lacked satisfaction in my eyes.

I think what they have done with SWTOR is great, the mmo feature is a bonus in my opinion :)

  • If This Gets A 8 Guild Wars 2 Can Defo Get 10.

  • I like the stylised graphics - its easy to run on highest settings on the computer and looks nice. it would be worse if they tried to make high end "realistic" detail and half the people wanting to play were crashing all the time.

  • excellent review in my opinion

opened my views on the game and made me realize things about it that i didn't before

still seeing this game it feels as it should be a single player game with some multiplayer capabilities.

then again, if it wasn't online, then Bioware wouldn't make as much money as there are chances of the game being pirated and such

but this is just my opinion

  • An honest, unbiased review. Great job Gamespot! Now redo your Skyward Sword review and we'll be fine.

  • wow had bugs and issues when it first came out... just got to give swtor some time to fix the bugs and get everything right... patience lol

  • 1:39 Hello Kratos

  • Everyone is reviewing the review, reviewception XD

  • @SirApolloOfficial the old republic is not kotor ffs!!!!!

  • @Shockwave370 Yes it is, the developers mention that on several occasions. Especially with their "... It's like KOTOR 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7 etc." quote. So relax and do a little research before you get mad at somebody next time. :P

  • Sound too much like he is reading a script. I know he is. But he could at least try to sound like he isn't. Also, talks too loud. I give this review an 8.

  • A review should be about how great a game is, and whether you should spend $ on it.if you already have the game and are loving it, dont whine about reviews.

  • considering wow has like 10 years on content, probably still wow.

personally i'm kind of sick of star wars, having seen it's many iterations since beta tapes.

doesn't look like anything new here.

  • What's a better MMO, this or WoW?

  • @MrThewhiteindian WoW is much more versatile and generally feel-better

  • Lets take in mind guys although Kevin gave this game a 8/10 it is still an MMO game and it will keep on finding ways to improve itself.

  • This looks pretty fun, but not sure if I want it or not. Is it easy for people new to MMO's to get into? And do you have to pay monthly?

  • @Justsomeperson660 it is really fun and you do have to pay monthly however a free month comes with each game im pretty sure

  • Great review. The reviewer hit on all the points, good and bad. I've played since launch and am loving it. Loads of content, tons of quests, which are all voiced. Great voice acting too. One of my companions is voiced by Lacey Chambert (Party of five, Lost in Space Movie). The companions have thier own story lines as well, If you get them to like you enough, you get to go through their story, which is similar to Mass Effect. Great game. If you're into Sci fi, then you'll love it.

  • why did they turn KOTOR into an MMO? it sucks...i would have loved a single player KOTOR with mass effect graphics *sigh*

  • @SirApolloOfficial

Mass Effect IS Kotor with ME graphics haha

  • @SirApolloOfficial You only feel that way because you don't have any friends. The rest of us like to play these games with real people.

  • @entehrend shut up.

  • @SirApolloOfficial It doesn't suck at all. It feels exactly like KOTOR1 and 2 but in an MMO setting. I wouldve preferred a KOTOR3, sure, but this is still a great game.

  • @Enigma02011 im sure it doesnt suck at all, i meant it sucked they ddnt make KOTOR 3, but I think I will defo give it a go :)

  • @SirApolloOfficial Bethesda should make Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 3. How fucking epic would that be

  • @Zer0SkiLL789 i've wanted that for sssoooo long

  • @Zer0SkiLL789 and dice should make star wars battlefront 3

  • @SirApolloOfficial Agreed, but i think I'd also like faster paced action like mass effect, my first rpg was KOTOR on the original xbox, and I loved the turn based gameplay, but since then I've played other successful rpgs like Fallout or the Elder Scrolls, and I'd take that combat over turn based any day.

  • @SirApolloOfficial i dissagree ! kotor in mmo just tells us fans that DONT WANT TO PLAY EVERY FUCKING MONTH TO PLAYA VIDEO GAME to fuck off.

tor is fine for people that want to dedicate months of their lives to the game, and i respect that. now a possible kotor 3 is what us, fans that are still students with almost no job want.!!

  • @SirApolloOfficial whats KOTOR

  • @bradhuygens Knights of the old republic. Very good game when it game out. never played the second one cause I never had the time too but I was VERY impressed with the first game.

  • @eseerrow oh okay thanks.

  • @SirApolloOfficial just because you dont want to be social doesent mean every1 else does

  • @SirApolloOfficial guys i retract my statement, having played it, i can safely say, its GREAT! it doesnt play like a typical MMO at all, more like guild wars

  • i guess many people were just thinking this game would be the change in mmo history

people got a bit over exited

i'm just gonna wait for a few patches to pass by till i'm going to try it out

wow is dead, & shouldn't be putting this up but i've been waiting for a good replacement and i haven't found one at all, hoping this will get me going

  • COMPANIONS THE BEST ASPECT OF THE GAME LOL

  • typical horrible review, what really pisses me off is how he keeps hinting to WoW. This game is nothing like WoW.

  • @DeadKold Yes it is the xp you see that you gain is purple. (Nation troller)

  • So.Im thinking of starting to play this game BUT I JUST HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS FIRST!

1.This is like wow right you can walk almost everywhere you want and you find players everywhere walking around doing there own things.

2.What can i do after getting level 50?

    3.Is it worth it!? :D

  • @misterhoobomaster Yes it is worth it. is it like WOW? Well, if WOW is similar to every other MMO, then yes the game mechanics are like WOW. Yes, you can walk everywhere you want, or take public transport, or ride your speeder. The of the planets are very very large. What to do after 50? Well I (and most players) have not reached 50 yet. That said, you can do all the Flash points (4 man group instantances) on hard mode. You can PVP on the PVP planet which is for 50's, other stuff too.

  • "Bounty hunter fires his rifle" /facepalm

  • @TheXXLethal 8 is a very good score, reviewers have made the mistake of giving out to many underservered 10 scores and now we think good scores like 7 or 8 are complete shit. Example, Bulletstorm is a dumb fun game that deserves no more than a respectful 7, not perfect or world changing, but a good game none-the-less. Skyrim wouldn't even be a 10, maybe a 9.5, but no 10. Very few games deserve 10 scores, and few games are true tens, like half life 2.

  • I haven't played it yet, bUt an 8 seems like a decent score for the vanilla offering.

  • this guy is a badass reviewer

  • This guys is a joke space combat is amazing and people need to stop saying it's the same as wow I dont care if they are both mmos this is star wars it's completely different

  • And another official paid review. Bunch of things that should be a fucking standard in 2012 are not there and all there is to this game is a reskined WoW clone. But we will give it above 8 rating so we get a copy of ME3 to review cause that's the deal with EA

  • The game is garbage for an MMO and medicore as singleplayer, as a singleplayer rpgI would rate it 6.5-7 as an MMO I wouldgive it a 4 outof 10.

  • @MyHirogen i swear that you are probably a no life wow player who never has played swtor and raged how millions quit wow to play it so you decide to troll.

  • @chillpill91 Biodrone and Bioware reply to complaints "you are wow and you conspire to get us waaaa waaaa", I neither play WoW nordo I want to. I did however play SWTOR and happy to inform you that EA origin gave me a refund on the game now because of illegal false advertising.

  • @MyHirogen you probably got 5 minutes into the game then decided to quit to go play some call of duty because you think your cool.

  • @MyHirogen refund? where can i get one.

  • Id give this game a 7,its no WoW but its ok ,whats needed to play this avredge game makes it a game not worth playing.

  • @jusjayeify It's not WOW?? That's sounds like something positive for me xD

  • It sux u gotta pay for the online though REALLY

  • Most of the stuff he was crying about are already being worked on

  • Im finding gamespot's reviews.are getting stupid. This gets an 8 and so does cata?

  • @MagnusCattus Gamespot gave cata 8.5, but I do think this is a fair review

  • It's not that great

  • @az4u100 ugh. I was commenting on a video that I thought was biased. Are you the commenting police? Yes. You are absolutely right. They do have better technology now and can build on what wow did (exactly what wow did with Everquest) and that's just what they did. I totally agree with you. Good point.

  • This is a great review, quit disliking it. I thing IGN was a bit to generous, and i love the game. A review isn't on personal bias like most dipshits on youtube believe, but on quality. Also an 8 is a great score, game critics made the same mistake as schools and told everyone( or every game) that their special and gave way too many an undeserving 10.

  • @ploglo13 And 8 isn't a great score. IT's just not sorry this game deserves at least a 9 but Gamespot is fucking stupid and rate everything lower than it should be.

  • @ploglo13 they're*

Clearly you were EXTRA special at your school. ^.^

  • And I know the first couple toons you pick are always your favorite. I'm not talking about. I said this toon ha far more complex combat than any toon I've played regardless of if I liked him or not.

  • T wow the second tor came out. Maybe you should do the same. I think you'll be happier.

  • @az4u100 and its kind of unfair to judge every mmo by the standards wow has had 8 years to perfect. (I don't think they've perfected it, rather made it into a race to endgame where all you do is try to get gear) swtor is very much about the community and the journey. I've had a blast but you seem like you wouldnt, so here's a simple idea: stop wasting your time worrying about it and don't play it. Go play wow if that makes you happy. Both games will be around for awhile. I stopped worrying abou

  • @Brownbagit1 Actualy you where the one who brought WoW into the discussion with your first two comments. Further more it is fair to judge new mmo's to WoW standards since the new released mmo's nowadays can pretty much take a look at what is good about WoW and copy it straight into their own games while also adding new things since they have access to much more advanced technology than when WoW was developed.

  • Az4u100 Im not talking about raids. They both have raids. I'm talking about getting to end getting to end game. The load times aren't important since you're there you stay there. I actually like space combat. About half way through the missions start getting really fun if you like that star fox kinda thing. Look, I don't know if you think wow was that way out of the box but it wasn't. They've slowly added a ton of things over the years

  • Until the put Blizz in WoW SWTOR wins.

  • I'm a former WoW PvP player and wonder how good the PvP is in this game? Would like someone who have loads of time played in PvP in both games

  • @DaendyrProductions I agree, i used to always think gamespot was tons better but the past year they have been a fucking joke.

  • @allnamesaretaken100 same here

  • @DaendyrProductions i love maths :)

  • @TheChosen0netv I love maths too but that has nothing to do with gamespot being a bad reviewer for the past year or so...

  • @DaendyrProductions Yeah, that would make sense, if it wasnt for the fact that you are actualy watching their video's and while doing that you support gamespot, Dont you think thats kinda sad that you dont like gamespot but still cant resist to watch their video's.

  • @az4u100 I'm not watching their videos. I just came here to compare IGN's review and Gamespot's. That doesn't mean I regularly watch their videos.

  • @DaendyrProductions So for what reason did you say the ign review is better than the one from gamespot, is it simply because ign gave this game a 9 while gamespot gave a 8? (8=great game) or do you actualy have a better reason than that.

  • @az4u100 I have a better reason than that. They have been shit for the past year and they just can't review games right anymore. It's not because they gave this game an 8.

  • @DaendyrProductions Alright, can you name a few reasons which in your opinion made this review bad.

  • @az4u100 This review was fine, I'm talking about every other review they made.

  • @DaendyrProductions How can you know, you said in a previous comment that you dont regularly watch gamespot reviews but only watched this one to compare it to ign's review and then came to the conclusion that gamespot 'cant review games anymore' but at the same time you are saying that this review was fine.

  • @az4u100 I watched Gamespot video reviews regularly about a month ago, even though they sucked. Now I can't stand them anymore so I don't watch them anymore. And I made a mistake, this review wasn't fine. I meant to say that this review sucked. Sorry about that.

  • @DaendyrProductions Then we go back to the previous question, 'Name the reasons why in your opinion this review is bad'.

  • @az4u100 It's boring and doesn't make sense, they are too strict and they suck. Are you happy now?

  • @DaendyrProductions Indeed, You just made a fool out of yourself and showed what kind of a primitive person you are with all the things you said, its pretty obvious you dont know anything about reviews, you cant even think of a reason why you find this review bad, kinda pathetic dont you think.

  • @az4u100 what is your problem? This game deserves a better score, and plenty of other games. That is why gamespot sucks, ok? Or do I have to draw it for you?

  • @DaendyrProductions Gametrailers > IGN > Gamespot :)

  • @aspasiz I agree

  • Can we all Shut the fuck up with Comparing WoW to SWTOR?, WoW is getting Shitty Panda's so clearly SWTOR IS the winner...

  • @Bronx1875 Still, you can't shut the fuck up about it yourself -.-

  • @Diigify Umad because you getting Panda's bruh?

  • @az4u100 and what does that mean wow is the best on the market 'fact'. Im not even sure what you were trying to do by saying 'fact'. And it's not 'fact'. It's an opinion. It was my favorite too but that still doesn't make it 'fact', whatever 'fact' means.

  • Comment removed

  • @az4u100 it's hard to pick a favorite thing in which this game blows wow out of the water but if I had to I'd say it's the combat. The first class I picked up also happens to be the most rewarding and challenging class I've played (knight sentinel). It's always changing depending on who your fighting. Im not saying wow wasn't great. I'm just saying this is as much an improvement of wow as wow was to Everquest. I was just upset he acted like wow intended it all.

  • Comment removed

  • @az4u100 do you really want to go down this road? Are you actually gonna defend what wow has become? A game where any 10 year old can pick it up and play it?

1-difficulty - it actually provides a challenge to even seasoned players

2- combat is waaaay more complex and you can't get by one 5 buttons

3 - story, well, 8 different stories by 8 different head writers all interweaving

4 no cross server dungeon finder

5 no "grinding". Leveling is actually a pleasure and not work

  • Comment removed

  • @Brownbagit1 Well,

1- WoW also provides challenge, have you ever been number1 in a arena season?done all heroic raids+achievments?

2- The usual simple mmo combat system.

3- Story/voice acting and dialog choices are indeed an improvement.

4- This could be considered a downside since you wont find dungeon groups as fast as if this sytem was put in place.

5- Your first few characters are always a pleasure to level up (also in WoW) it becomes boring the longer you play.

  • @az4u100 actually swtor leveling never gets boring too me imo

  • and while the debate rages, george lucas sits on a golden throne being fed grapes by droids.way to go nerds.

  • @ih8talkingmonkeys oversized grapes

  • @ih8talkingmonkeys You think we're playing this for lucas? NO, we play it for experience.

Not for fucking awesome cinematics, wich btw are epic! :D

  • Terrible review. This guy obviously has not looked really done his homework on the mechanics of the game. Close minded and unfortunately not an accurate review IMO.

  • WTF is with this review...all the problems he has with the game are problems you find in almost every MMO, other than the light side and Dark side choices, which I've yet to choose my actions based on equipment but instead I choose on what I think my character would do, Take my Bounter Hunter I'm playing her as a cold ass bitch that just wants to get paid the most and doesn't like being stabbed in the back so I play her like that and I've missed some sweet gear.

    sorry n-rage there...bad review

  • The reviewer says the facial features are flat? Is he for real. Fair enough saying the textures are not that great, but i think the faces on all the characters look really good for a mmo.

  • @DRIODBOY 2012 MMO* its not like its classic WoW lol..

  • star trek i-phone for the win!

  • Damn ads.....

  • @VanceHelw Adblock plus for firefox and chrome, problem solved.

  • I have a 21 merc and so far its addictive. On the one hand, the variety of classes/races is disappointing, but the combat and actual gameplay is a lot of fun. This game being in its infacy, I'd say its really good. The story missions really suck you in, and heroic missions/flashpoints are great. Then again, playing a bounty hunter, I just blow stuff up.

  • gonna play it when its f2p or b2p. too bad its a wow killer.. will take a long time to become f2p

  • for the horde!!!

  • this game is amazing.. -My review

  • If you like WoW, Star Wars, and Bioware games, you should really check this game out! Yeah he's pointing out a lot of flaws, but most of these flaws he's saying can be fixed with future patches. In some areas, at least in the beginning ones, you will be backtracking over the same area doing missions. I'm still in Coruscant, lvl 16 Jedi Guardian. Coruscant is big but it only has like 3 points to explore. The Auction house seems to be working now but could still use some improvements.

  • I'll wait for the free trial thanks.

  • Great. Pvp is absolutely the best in any mmo right now. It's far better than he gave it credit for, and it doesn't pander to casual gamers like wow did to get more subscribers. And the problems he had with Pvp are going to be changed shortly. Some people don't even like that idea

  • He's way too hard on it. He gives the review an 8 and spends 50% of the time talking about its flaws. With a game this big in surprised most of it worked well. The auction house is flawed but they'll obviously fix that and they're already rolling out a patch that fixes a lot f what he complained about. Was wow groundbreaking, gamespot? No. It improved on Everquest. I loved wow but this game made it obsolete by rolling back the changes that made wow suck and building on the things that made it g

  • @Brownbagit1 Alright, why dont you start by naming 5 things that this game improves compared to WoW.

From what i have seen so far if you have played WoW (the best MMO on the market 'fact') you have pretty much played all mmo's since they coppy alot of stuff from it the only thing that this game may have that is new is the fact that all the dialog is voice acted.

  • @az4u100 A lot of cut-scenes. Your own choices of dialogue and what to do. Companions who talk to you and whom you love. You make your own characters decisions when talking to NPCs/other. A lot more in-depth roleplay/character focus rather than WoW... which is all just level to max, then PvP/PvE over and over for the best gear.

  • @noobface123 Indeed the choices/companions and the voice acting is great for the immersion into the game world, but as the reviewer said the world isnt a sandbox kind of world where you could travel for long distances and discover interesting things, area's are instances so i guess you wont be seeing other players in those area's. Besides what do you do when you reach endgame in Swtor? im sure it will be pretty much the same as in any mmo, pvp, raid, get better gear.etc
