Why are they so long and repetitive? If the application process was still personal instead of online, they would get a "feel" for the applicant. I recently went to a "business" and turned my cv ltr, my resume w/ references, and THEIR application, along with their bckgrnd request, and their mini assessment, (20 min to complete) in too the mgr and he looked at it, like it was completely foreign to him. Told me "Um we don't accept paper applications anymore." I did it twice be/c I had to online.
@CarlaMorris Many are using the automated applicant tracking systems because it makes their processes much faster and easier to find suitable candidates. But I agree with you, they can be cumbersome and time-consuming. Best bet is to possibly reach out before and just ensure you're following the process that works best for them before having to duplicate your efforts.
