  • thanks for the help ,its realy useful ,but could you explane the features for each setup?

  • wahh this helps alot. Thank you. I think im just going to set my rudder dr switch to 70/30....and adjust from there, i plan on flying hh mode most flights anyway. When is rate mode used?? and why??

  • @Captan6pack Hi, Rate mode is used to make general forward flight easier you don't need to use rudder as much, the tail will automatically follow the nose of the heli. Using heading hold for he same kind of flight means you need to use the rudder to get the heli to turn.

  • hi and thanks i have been having problems with gyro and just brought a dx7 se , the hand book does not even mention the word head hold , and this explanes it well i have three options i had most of it right except i didnot click on the mode1 so now should work many thanks ,,,,grant

  • thanks a lot for the explanation. Your 4:22min video saved me hours trying to figure out different ways of getting my gyro setup correctly in my DX7

  • @tekparasite no problem mate glad it helped.

  • Gary thanks again. I had a bloody hell of a time helping a newbie with his dx7 setting up gyro. Gyro appears bloody nowhere. One must go to INPUT SELECT menu and look for GEAR to toggle out of default INH to select GYRO. I checked spektrums latest Dx7 user manual, and I must say spektrum is fucked. Nothing about this in there. Spektrum really pushing me to Futaba!!!

  • Hi Gary, I have the DX7 tx and the AR7000 rx utilizing at futaba gy-520 gyro. When connecting the gyro (which has 2 leads (red:gain channel/black:tail rotor channel) to the rx, which channel on the rx do I connect the (black plug) and which channel on the rx do I connect the (red plug)? After all of this, what do I set my DX7 transmitter on? Any help you can give me on this would be great. Thank you.

  • Hi, connect the tail rotor servo to the rudd channel (4) and the gain to GEAR (ch 5)

set the % gain for gear channel to 35% & 70%. this should give you rate mode @ 35% and heading hold @70% depending on gear switch. check the gyro, normally the led is on for heading hold, this is where you want the 70% gain.

if this is unclear or you need more help drop me a message.
