  • @intojazznyc oh fuck yea, absolutely!!!

  • As much as I love this song (this coming from a guy born in 1990), what makes it better is the message it sends which still rings true to this very day.

We all need loving, but some people have whacked out means of getting it, thus ruining it for all parties involved.

disco lives on for the new generation like me!

  • I totally agree with @snake7154......those were the Good old days.. today well its just an illusion, Todays generation is just CLUELESS about LIFE period...

  • one day they love you....next day they leave you!

  • Today is September 5th my b-day.Iam so glad to have this song.We grew up in N.Y.when the disco's wers soooo hot and we diddn't care how long we waited to get into the clubs, snow be damned!!!!! Kids today have no clue, and no generation after us Exer's will be able to pull up crap the way we did!!!!!(HA)We ruined for you silly children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @snake7154 Now, Now! You are sounding just like me and you are making me feel old! LOL....I remember that "old" New York of the 1970's ...there was crime and grime here but damn it there were real people here, it was our City......

50 cent Subway...half off from 6;00 pm Saturday to 1:00 am Monday ......

The WTC was our pride, Disco ruled..

42nd Street is today a tourist trap, the subway is $2.25 .rents are in the thousands everywhere ......

Some of us are still here, many of us remember .....

  • @NativeNewYorkGuy

Let's not let nostalgia cloud our judgment. Not just crime and grime, from 1975-1990 aprox. NYC was a dump. Would I prefer it were less shiny and expensive now? Absolutely. Would I trade it for the days of city bankruptcy, widespread police corruption, Son of Sam, zombie junkie muggers all over the place, rampant drug dealing EVERYWHERE in full view, Etan Patz, Howard Beach, etc? No way. I hate the plasticity and expense but enjoy not having my life in danger even more.

  • @KikoSavesTheDay I agree with you, the city was a MESS in that era - yet the one incontestable truth from that time is that the clubs - and music - were incomparable. For just one more Sat night at the Paradise Garage in its 79-82 heyday I would sell my very soul.

  • @njplr Garage lives. It lives inside us.

  • @njplr thank you for your great comment. i'm born 83' but i still agree with you

  • @KikoSavesTheDay, you just took me through memory lane! Don't get me wrong I don't miss the crime and the grime ...its very different today than it was back then, somewhat yes, plastic and overpriced yet I would not trade it now for the "good old days" which were not so good. I do feel so much safer now than I did say in 1989.

  • @KikoSavesTheDay I miss those days, so what you are saying is that it was more dangerous then than it is now? Im sorry but I dont agree with you. Today is full of evil motherfuckers. Back then people were real, what you saw was what you got. Drugs were innocent than..and not like now where every motherfucker is a crackhead. We did mescaline, smoked a lil dust, did a lil speed, but it was for out partying, I didnt base my life on it day in and out, I didnt steal for it, or hurt anyone.

  • @harleydd The City WAS (much) more dangerous then. Just check the crime statistics. But I think that's part of what gave New York so much energy back then. Giuliani and now Bloomberg have turned NYC into a theme park: Disneyland Manhattan.

  • @KikoSavesTheDay (CONT'D) I would take those days over today any day....You say Son of Sam, today we had Dahmer, junkie muggers will always be around forever. Its worst now. Blowing up the WTC, terrorism, pedophilia rampant, priests fucking little boys and getting away with it, kids not fistfighting anymore, today its guns, people dont know how to fight anymore..these young thugs of today have no moral, no education, how can you compare then til now...Please re think about it.

  • @harleydd

I'm not saying we live in a paradise; it's a complicated world now. But this was a very, very dangerous city back then, even w/o the threat of terrorism. In '76 my parents sold their profitable business and took my brother and I out of the city 'cause they didn't want to raise us here. After visiting every summer, I moved back as an adult over 20 years ago. But the same mother who uprooted us then, can't get enough of the city now. Good or bad, that should tell you something.

  • Very Beautiful Music !!

  • don ray cerrone nuff said!!!

  • Great post, great video and song!! Im having fun and enjoying listening to my favorite songs of the 70's now that you are back my friend!! Looking forward to some more videos/songs in the days ahead. Thanks again for the post.

  • q buena musica carajooooooooo

  • Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling!

  • Yup. Disco and wrestling are a odd mix, but this song was a great tune for that wrestling program.
