@patrickmck26 The tires are also wider than stock tires, the spacer you are seeing is between the rear duels. with out it the rear tires would touch before the lug nuts were tight.
@patrickmck26 Thats the stock ring for the chevy duel wheel set up. The rims don,t have the tapered holes for the lug tapered lug nuts. it is the way chevy did it for many years.
@etherialcruiser No I haven't broken any yet. I think my savior has been the slight lack of horsepower I have with the current engine. I am building a new engine ( more ponies ) then I will have to rely on my driving skill to keep parts from breaking. lol
good in fo bub love the videos hope to b able to subscribe soon, in the make of buildin my own truck just like urs with a few of my own moods thrown in, still looking for a name tho, keep up the good work
@BigNRich45 Cool, you can have a lot of fun with the name if you want. The club I belong to has a few members with off-road tow trucks and they like to use the word HOOKER in the names, The Woods Hooker, General Hooker, and The angry Hooker. Have fun with it and keep me updated on your progress. And Subscribe it's free.
Like all your videos but why didn't you run single rears? I know all your recoveries are off road and don't duels pack with nud or is the region you live in not prone to the sticky gumbo crap we have to go though her in Texas.
@ke5hbd Most of the mud up here flings out with a little tire speed, unlike the clay you have in Texas, or like the clay I ran into in Oklahoma with the Rubicon a few years ago. But mostly because they all said a full wrecker body with duals would be to big for the trails, so I did what they said couldn't be done. lol
@recoveryteam Thabks for the reply and I watched your videos and its always amazes me how well it does off road as i know its heavy with the full bed.
Would be cool to see you put a wheel lift on it but it may not work well off road due to clearance issues as they hang low and some of the angles you have to get into and out of are tricky.
As an ex wrecker operator all I can say wow and keep up the good work.
@ke5hbd The wrecker had a wheel lift when I bought it. but after the lift kit and tires it would no longer reach the ground, and yes it would also be a huge clearance problem. the only style off wheel lift that might work off-road would be the ones that are part of the wrecker boom. As they have much more up and down travel, and could be lifted up for extreme off-road use.
Sorry about the double post, I wasn't sure it when thru the first time. Anyway selectable lockers would be the hot set up. I'm saving up for an electric locker for mine
@jturek1683 Yes selectable lockers are the way to go, my Rubicon has them. Yukon now has a selectable locker out called the Grizzly, I would love to test a set for them. Sent them a e-mail, but no response yet.
Do you have the spacers made or can they be bought?
thegreenerthemeaner 1 year ago
@thegreenerthemeaner They were bought, I can't remember the manufacture's name, but they have adds in all the popular off-road magazines.

Is the spacer between the rims 2" or 3"?
951waste 1 year ago
@951waste it is a 4" spacer between the duals.

that is awesome

why do you need the spacer on the outside rim? seems pointless.

@recoveryteam I understand that one but the one on the outside before you put the lugnuts on
