As far as the change in locations, yes, it is a bit of a culture shock. I'm originally from a medium city in Indiana. I'm now living in a town of 2,000 people out in the middle of nowhere. The nearest Wal-mart is 1 1/2 hours away and the nearest mall is 3 hours away. Despite the shitty living, the job is awesome and I love it.
