Everytime i liste to this i have chills... damn the Book is Epic and the movie is brilliant! I think that the best part is the obsession of Harry to the Book of The Halfblood Prince.

This song and the rest of Nicholas Hooper's score is merely one of the reasons why Half Blood Prince is my personal favorite of the Harry Potter movies. Such a misunderstood and underrated character study.

this is quite unsettling...I have personally listened to many epic movie score pieces ranging from hans zimmer to two steps from hell. Yet this one stirs something very deep in me. Indeed ravenfire385 I can totally see the ferryman take me over the styx, but this song has more to it. Its one of those rare pieces of music that 'touches the soul' not just a temporary emotion. Unsettling and melodramatic are the words that linger in my mind when hearing this...goosebumps as well :)

Well you can clwary hear it in the deleted scene, but during Dumbledore's speech and right after Dumbledore drinks the driink in the cave, you can faintly hear it.

Draco's a bully and a coward, but he didn't want this. He idolized his father, he wanted to be Lucius, so he only thought he wanted this. When the chance came to prove his worth, he couldn't kill Dumbledore, even though he knew Voldemort would kill him if he didn't. The fear of Voldemort's wrath wasn't enough to make Draco finish the job. That's not cowardice. Say what you will, but Draco has redeeming qualities buried deep in that ego of his.

As for Snape, well... we should all know that one.

They should play this in the DHP2 when Harry goes into the Great Hall and sees the dead and injured people. Or better yet, they should play it after he's seen the memories and goes to Voldy! They better use a dramatic song like this one in both scenes, though I'll be shocked if they manage to find or make one better than this one!

This went with a deleted scene in Harry Potter. I can't believe they deleted it though, that was the only scene where you saw Snape hurting on the OUTside.

@HalfMoonxJayfeather - I TOTALLY ABSOLUTELY AGREE. That deleted scene alone revealed Snape's situation in the ENTIRE SERIES. Guhhhh. The transition he does with his facial expression was perfect. I will never know how the hell the editors decided to cut such an amazing scene.

Wow! I think this guy Nicholas Hooper, did a very wonderful job with the soundtracks of the last two films. It was amazing but i also liked the score of the tree first films wich John Williams did.

I dont really know what I think of the whole putting John Williams back in the two comming films... I loved Hoopers work and this song...

I feel like this would be a song you would hear as the ferryman takes you across the river Styx...just imagine it. It's dead calm, the river is covered in a layer of fog. It's dark, and the ferryman is taking his time. The boat is lit by a single lantern, and you huddle at the front of the boat.
