That is one of my things, I would love to have some backtracking, that isn't from the album, but I can't seem to find them. I think this would make playing a lot more fun. :)

the effects i write in each video are those which are used at least once during the song. Some of them are just to spice up things, you dont really need that many to play this song... a good distortion pedal and some delay/wah will do.

thanks, im not good at sweep picking - the only sweep i can play is the aug arpeggio at 5:09

It is a very difficult technique to master, in my opinion even harder than alt picking, it takes a really long time to get the timing perfect and muting done properly. Obviously you have to start slow with the metronome and work your way to the higher tempos. Practice using both clean channel and distortion, it will take a pretty long time but it will pay off.

I love the tones you're getting...can you maybe explain how you use the jemini / tube screamer / line-driver? Which one do you use for which sounds? Do you stack those pedals?

Another question: why and how are you using the compressor? Is it on all the time?

i used to have the tube screamer after the jemini, that way the jemini boosted the tube screamer instead of the other way around. the tone was pretty good, but really muddy, the wah also sounded weird. the compressor was on the entire time for more sustain. the line driver is just a clean boost for more volume.

thanks man, thank god i dont do drugs and hope i never will. i actually dont play THAT much, usually between 1-2 hours a day and i run the metronome for like 10-15 minutes when i wake up in the morning.
