  • Great. How do we do this for high school foreign language requirements when students have had no previous foreign language training? Especially when students are expected to have 2 credits in foreign language, but only get one semester for each credit. Gracias.

  • great vid. thanks for the upload

  • Wow! i would use this video for my report.

  • wow thank you. I remember watching this documentary on a video tape at a library!

  • Muy bueno, cual fue tu fuente?

  • INTERESTING!

  • I like this, looks very useful indeed for learning a language.

  • This video is just great, it explains how TPR method is used in a classroom.

  • To the guy who comment this is like training a dog... yes that is TPR and I am learning that in my TESOL course. It is a very effective way to teach ppl at very low level. May be you thought you can just jump in an give a lecture on grammar to all the level 1 eh?

  • This is one method we are studying in my MA program for TESOL

  • Are there any TPR language courses offered in Charlotte, NC?

  • like training a dog lol

  • it is true. actually, young children have impulses that are much more instinctive than the older ones. And if you have a reward, they'll probably learn everything perfectly. It's simple psychology. you can compare children with dogs, and adults with apes.

  • Thank u very much. Very very useful video.

  • O método parece realmente eficaz.....

    Show de bola! Adorei!

  • Realmente o método is Great... hehehehe

    God bless you forever!!!

  • Great Jaisson!

    Que bom que gostou. ;)

  • That's amazing. So good, so good.

  • Muito bacana o vídeo!

Assim é mais fácil de aprender. O novo idioma passa a fazer parte da gente como a língua materna.

    Muito bacana mesmo!

    Bênçãos Coloridas pelo Aprendizado!

  • though have to say great documentary...

  • What a load of rubbish... life in imperative... fun?! what about the other 30 kids sat there bored out of their skulls?

  • Most effective TPR lessons are done with the whole class. Sometimes vocab is introduced using volunteers, but the concept is doing it with the whole class so it is not stressful or intimidating to anyone. I've been in TPR classes and taught them, and students (kids through adults) enjoy them and learn, if you do it right. Do some research.

  • thank you!

  • where can I get this video, I would like to use it for a presentation.

  • The film clips are of Dr. James J. Asher, the originator of

the Total Physical Response, known worldwide as TPR. Also

shown is Ramiro Garcia at Prospect High

School in Saratoga, California. The film entitled, Language

Acquisition, was produced by the BBC in about 1986-87 and played on worldwide television including

    the PBS program, Nova.
