I like android more than iPhone, but I don't want to switch from my 12 number keyboard texting phone: Sony Elm.

I don't like the touchscreen typing, or the kind of small qwerty keyboard either.

Both the iPhone and Android are good phone OS'. However, I've had a chance to test the x86 port of Android 1.6. The OS has a lot of potential, despite it current fragmented state. I haven't had a chance to test 2.1 at all but I can defiantly see myself using an Android device in the future.

I have an iphone, I used to like it. When I was able to hack it and run free applications, it was by far the coolest thing I had owned. Now I can't do that, and I can't stand restrictions. I'm going to be buying the neo freerunner (which can run android, along with several other os's). I think I'll be happy with that :)

To be fair... the OS that the Iphone is based-off Darwin... which I believe is Open Source. Although, Darwin is only the absolute bottom part of the iphone software.

Android is far more extensively Open Source
