Why is it that when someone posts a diesel video that is one sided toward their particular brand of truck and engine combonation that everyone gets there paties up in a bunch argueing over what is better. Any diesel engine can be made to perform extremely well in any one of these competitions. I know my way around a pulling track and for the most part the Cummins engines do dominate, simply becuase it is cheap to build one to run well for that enviorment.

@alexmpowere30bmw Feel power??? yea the audis are pushin decent horsepower and accelaration but put a 30,000 pound pull sled behind it, or a 48 foot gooseneck with a load of lumber? the audi has nothing. The diesel pickups have speed performance, and useable towing performance that surpasses all. 1100 ft.lbs of torque in an audi on a budget? i dont think so.

@duramaxin81 It's awful funny to me that it's huge news when a duramax or power stroke makes 1000 hp, and 12 valves have been doing that for 15 years. It also seams odd that there are so few if any ford or chevy trucks in unlimited classes, and if there are, they are almost always powered by a cummins. Show me ONE dodge that has had a duramax or powerstroke swapped in.

@caniwitech show me one 12 valve making 1000hp and show me one truck that had a duramax in it that now has a cummins and there are more 1000hp duramaxs out threr then there are cummins why does the the worlds fastest diesel powered dragster have a duramax in it why does the worlds fastest diesel at 400 mph have a duramax in it and the fastest cummins truck iv seen runs tens but theres duramaxes runing low nines

@duramaxin81 You've never seen a 1000 hp 12 valve? Are you new to this sport? Many 12 valve's in tractor pull mode produce 1500+ hp. Just type it in, or go to scheid diesel! And you are probably right, i'm sure there has never been a duramax to cummins swap. The duramax enigne is pretty good, and there is no way the crappy chevy ifs could hold up the cummins' weight. How come i never see duramx trucks in the unlimited tractor oull classes?

96 CTD Dually 4x4 ranch truck. Had a 6 in straight pipe into 8 in stacks, all pipe, no cats or mufflers. ATS twin turbo, puttin out about 790 horses, little over 1800 ft lbs of torque, sit at the stop lights w/ the jake on and build boost up to about 10 psi, then click off the jake and melt duals through 3 gears before i got any traction, w/ a stock trailer. :) Blew it up. :(

that drag racing clip of the green cummins/white cummins at 1:19 is at the muncie dragway, thats where they use to have the drag racing and truck pulls there in 2003(truckpulls were in gaston) until they moved it to idianapolis. mater of fact i just live a quarter mile up the road from the strip.sad to say though that was the last event at the track still to this day.and i think i see myself in the camera as it pans along down the track.anyway those were the good old dayz
