This is like a bandaid on a broken arm. The redirects may stop for a time but whatever changed the browser settings is still on the computer.

wow! This was SUCH A SIMPLE FIX! Thanks Soo Much! i spent my entire weekend searching for ways to fix this virus and all had fancy .exe files that would run scans and didnt help at all. But then i came across this video and reset IE settings and it worked with all my browsers. The first to get hit was Firefox and it was fixed after this! Thanks again!

Use a free internet program call Combofix...will open up a dos window and will download Windows Restore utility if you don't have it installed. Works quickly. Found by rootkit redirect problem and replaced it with the correct windows file. Suffered with the re-direct problem for 6 months and it worked for me. It's free with no strings attached.

Just download microsoft security essentials (FREE) and let it scan your computer for you. If the first scan doesnt work then run a full scan. The regular scan worked for me though. A real quick fix.

Dude, Many Thanks, I cant begin to tell you how many different malware and spyware programs and removers I have tried and even contacted Microsoft and they sent me an email of steps to try to make your head spin!!! Run this, then run that, then go into safe mode, then download this, run that, create logs, save the logs as .nfo, email the logs..... Mercy!

I also changed Firefox advanced options by checking "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page." This has seemed to work
