  • how are you going to attach this to a rocket

  • oh wow. how much can this microbe sized engine lift? 0,000006548002784 pounds?

  • wow why didnt you just put it in a balloon and sell it to some desperate kids? waste of n2o lol

  • thats like me after a bowl of chili

  • hmm fire that puppy out of a tube and you got yourself an effective airsoft weapon as long as you use a soft blunt tip..

  • I always laugh when I see N02 being used as an oxidizer, because when I was a kid I made a N02 powered pot pipe ; and we always asked ourselves "is NO2 flammable?". We assumed it wasnt, surprised we our lungs didnt blow up.

PS( control valved NO2 powered a venturi, which was connected to the intake)

  • @JDCubed789 It's N2O not NO2, N2O is nitrous oxide and NO2 is nitrogen dioxide.

  • Cool, now try to make a longer combustion.

  • Can someone tell me how to make a real rocket, that is going upwards and can hold very long? O.o plz i need it for the school ^^

  • you dont know anything about it and you expect 2 build one, its called studying thats the only way, it involves math . you cant just ask people thats stupid cause there all different try doing a solid propellent or start there .

  • Yeah.

Look when I commented this, almost a month ago.

Don't you think that I have studied?

If a person ask about how to make one, it doesn't mean that that person is not studying. And I know how to make a rocket now.

If i ask what i asked about, maybe he/she says "you need gass that you need to fire up, so it will move forward"

    yeah?

    I don't undertsand your problem..

I just asked for ideas and tips, but you don't know anything that i study or not, so there i really disagree with you.

  • Wow man, wow. So you come onto youtube (where you'll NEVER get an intelligent answer--especially in 500 characters), ask an asinine question, then get belligerent.

It's not hard to build a model rocket. If you want to get into experimental rocketry, I can tell you right now that you don't know what you're doing. Look up Richard Nakka and his website; he has a detailed primer on building rocket motors. If you don't understand the physics, don't attempt to build one until you do.

  • @DDTea I love that guy's site. I'm gonna go check to see what he's been up to.

  • If your looking on building a Hybrid rocket with a high ISP to fly high altitudes you, found the right nerd. The hybrid rocket I use uses a simple combustion chamber made from plumbing parts with a cylinder with a hole down the middle made of paraffin wax with aluminum powder in it as the fuel and 90% H2O2 as the oxidizer, I use a carbon nozzle. All you do is pressurize the H2O2 tank and your set to fly, for more info just send me a message

  • @venera13studios ty, haha, it's a little ago I posted this.

This is still a school project, but I've figured out how you guys do it.

And how I can do it. So it's nothing I want help to now :)

  • @venera13studios Im Building a rocket. HOw would You ignite it? What do you use as fuel?

  • @jsmithmilitary thats why he askd shitface .. without any info u cannot study u dickhead & its for school so its for study

  • Nice static firing, but you are going to get much better results by firing it so the nozzle is facing down. This way you burn the liquid N2O first, producing more thrust.

  • how do you release the N2O?

  • you use a plastic disk that burns thru when the pre-heater grain ignites...

  • No he used N2O and a solid feul, else it wouldn't be a hybrid rocket. The definition of a hybrid rocket is nothing else than a rocket that is propelled by a gaseous oxidizer and a solid feul.

N2O is a quite strong oxidizing agent, I am thinkin for a long time to build such device like a hybrid, I'm going to use parafin as the solid feul. But, N2O is not a type of chemical that is in my reach, I'm searching for an other gaseous non-toxic oxidizer.

  • heard of welding supply?

  • n2o can be ordered through racing catalogs like "Summit racing", or "Jegs"

  • Head shops, and most grocery stores sell N20 as "whip cream chargers" used in food preparation.

  • Yes I know, in the States you can buy them very easily, sadly my goverment is trying to forbidden everything that is fun and chemical containing. I heard lot's of people saying N2O gas can be bought allmost everywere, well not where I live.(the Netherlands). Maybe I can buy them on the internet somewhere..

  • ebay sells it

  • gas oxygen?

  • @potassiumperchlorate Or a solid oxidizer and liquid fuel.

  • @potassiumperchlorate

Hybrid rocket engine is usually combination of gaseous oxidizer and solid fuel but it is not a must and definition of hybrid engines. Hybrid engine could be also combination of gaseous or liquid fuel with solid oxidizer, for example, it is not forbidden...

  • @potassiumperchlorate

Dude you can get N2O cartridges similar to CO2 cartridges for airguns... I am sure you can get them everywhere

  • what is your solid fule

  • got some fuckin kick to it

  • The fuel was acrylic tube....

  • @ben7770 wrong...i have made these before....it is a polyethelene ype of plastic in any form wheter it be tube or just scraps

  • use 1/3 potassium nitrate 2/3 sugar then mix. place in plastic tube and compact, then soak a strip of paper in the same mix as the fuse light and stand back as its like a rocket engine

  • err..he mentioned right in the description..he used Nitrous Oxide from whipped cream cans.

  • He didn't, he just says the oxidizer.

  • VERY NICE WHAT FUEL DID YOU USED?
