You know, I think we were here for this when I was 9 (my first trip there), but I barely remember any parades I saw... I usually only remember the parades I saw last and we went there last year for my third time...
Disneyland is probably the only place on Earth where I can be out in the sun all day and stay in a good mood. I think that is part of the magic. I haven't been since 1998 or so but when I watch these videos I can remember a place where I stood to watch a parade and obviously standing in line for a ride but it's well worth it. Thanks for the video and the memories.
disneyland sure brings out the little kid in you. i remember when i saw this parade i FREAKED when ariel's float came by (she's my favorite princess, no disney character all together). im going to DL next week, so i cant WAIT to ride her new ride and see her new float in the parade! i'm 15 now, and i'm pretty sure i'm going to have the same reaction. lol.
I was at this parade! The most amazing parades ever! Along with the fireworks! Such a great experience and great to see the characters of my childhood!!
@THEREALANAKAREN Yes, but it's gone now. The parade ended it's run at November 2008 for Celebrate Street Party. Now they're running Mickey's Soundsational Parade a new one. I hope they bring it back for it's 60th Anniversary. I was there during it's 50th Anniversary and that parade really gives us memories from our past, it's the best experience ever.
ok, to any cms on here, i must know, are the rumes iv been circulateing around true, is the msep makeing a comeback, if so when, and is it going to stay at dl forevermore, please answer, im a huge old school disney fanatic, and loved that parade, please respond, also if any of you have any clout with the company please tell them to show the classics more id be extreamly happy
I would love to be part of the cast there. To be one of the characters and be able to make so many kids happy and give them such a great expierence. Making so many kids smile would be such an awesome job!
@ladyp1234 i got $10 an hour (to begin with) and worked nearly everyday, but it went up depending on how long you worked there. When i quit I had worked for 5 years as alice, and got $40 an hour. So i wasn't complaining! But it was an amazing job and still talk to many other "characters", like my best friend was Belle and my other best friend was Tinkerbell. And as i said i would go back in a heartbeat :) xx
@woofdog100 it really depends, I mean I got want it for sleeping beauty, but they thought that m appearance was more suited toward alice, cause they thought I looked young and had blonde hair...
and i had worked with children before, and that helped.
In my case it was more appearance, but I know in other cases that they changed their appearance, eg died their hair... and they got their job on experience.
but it really is the most amazing job I've had, I really encourage you to try out
Mr. Rabbit!!!! -hug- :3 I'm an anime/manga fan and most of us LOVE Alice In Wonderland stuff, especially the White Rabbit. :3 I can bet how hot the costume is, though. D: I mean, I would LOVE to wear a fur suit, but I can bet its HOT in the sun...
@miena25 way to have character integrity... i was in entertainment at WDW and keeping character integrity at the highest standard was important in florida... that's cool though that your friends with the White Rabbit
this is amazing! If only i was able to appreciate understand the absolute beauty there is in childhood! Everytime i watch an old Mickey Mouse clip or Disney parade i find myself crying! I can never thank Disney enough for giving me joy, fun and innocence.
The first time I ever went to Disneyland this parade was the first thing I saw and I started crying and smiling. It made me feel like a kid again and made me feel very welcomed and that my dreams can come true :)
I was there for the 50th anniversary and it's the best experience I've had at Disneyland so far. It was so amazing, this parade, the fireworks, everything about that day was magical. To be the first group to walk into the park early and to be greeted by all the employees...I will never ever forget that day. Best parade I've ever seen at Disneyland by far imo. Along with those fireworks..I love, love Disneyland!! Can't wait to go again. Hopefully 8 months or so *crosses fingers.* lol
@teamXtremerulzz - If you havent found it yet, I have the fireworks show from that night with all the joyful screaming that went on. It in my YouTube movies somewhere and it is labeled opening night.
@ru42 Awesome I will take a look at it. =) Is my fave fireworks show by far. I saw it as much as I could when I went lol. It's a bummer they stopped showing it.
@teamXtremerulzz - you might be interested in my Disney stuff. Go to my profile here and click on my website. The 50th you would really like I think. I just offer this up for your consideration.
@teamXtremerulzz I was there too for the 50th, with my grown up Son. We traveled from London UK. I agree it was a magical day we had never been to Disneyland Cal before, we had been to Florida and of course Paris. We have not forgotten all the cast members on the way in saying 'welcome home' and giving out the gold Mickey ears and all those free birthday cup cakes. We went back for a week end of November beginning December 2010. I want to go again see TOON TOWN again our favourite.
@2goofyland That is great! How long did you wait in line to get inside the park that morning? My family was in line from 11pm the previous night until that morning...It was a long night haha, but definitely worth it. I'm glad my mom had taken us to experience it..
I just went to WDW 2 months ago instead of Disneyland, since I hadn't been before. It was so different, but still so amazing. I would definitely go back, even tho Disneyland will always be number one to me. =P
this makes me cry everytime i watch:( this parade was full of magic and memories and i miss that:( why cant they have a normal parade like this instead of the ridiculous celebrate parade?! i know a dancer who used to be in this parade and she said everyone in the parade wants it back.....
@SpReAdThEpEaCePpLz - LOL, I can see what you mean, there are some similarities between the two. The piece you hear is from Peter Pan as it blends into the Family Song. Good ears!

Do you guys think at the characters at the end float should only be Dumbo, Cinderella, Donald, Dancing Hippos & Alligators, Rutt, Tuke, the Genie, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Jiminy Cricket & Stitch? Those were the "stars" in the Disneyland 50th commercials. I know Minnie wasn't in them, but she & Mickey as king & queen = perfect. Do you guys think they should've done thator keep it with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs?
I forgot what happened between when everybody laughed and when I went to sit back down. But it was my most FAVORITE Disneyland memory EVER. I was so lucky! :D
Her, my mom, step-father, and probably some of the visitors too was urging me to go up there with her so I eventually decided to do so. When I followed her to the center of the parade when the parde stopped just for me. :D Everybody watching applauded me. And asked for her mother to come up to see me, she came over and looked at me I then bowed before her like in the movie. Lol and everybody laughed and clapped again. I then went back and sat down.
I remember when I was a kid, (I'm still a kid...at heart. ;) And I'm only 21) I was watching Disneyland's parade with my mom and step-father, and one of Cinderella's step-sisters unexpectedly came up to me and asked me if I was a prince. I was like, no. She told me that I looked like one and asked me if I wanted to clome up there with her. I was so shy and didn't know what to do.
I was there too, but not at the Disneyland parks. I was at Disney WORLD. xD My first trip to Disney World was on their 50th Anniversary. :) 50 years of Mr. Walt's AMAZING ideas and story-telling. So happy I was there to celebrate that since I want to be an animator like he was. :)
And I wouldn't mind working for Disney~ I mean, they're usually pretty open for ideas and I'd wanna try to help get them out of the slight trouble they're in now financially. I hope they keep getting more money so they can keep going. :O Sometimes they do make movies that aren't that good, but everyone loves it when they do great!
I've been having a vacation here in the Phillippines for almost 6 months now n planning on coming back to Cali in Jan..but i really miss going to Disney and working for disney. ILL BE BACK!
oh no i like to go again in parades, even when i saw princesses!!! THEY ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL!!! princesses are my favourite!!!!! i want to watch it again!!!! and want to come again!!!!
i miss this parade! If only Disney would bring it back...... :-( This was one of their better parades. I would always get the song stuck in my head, when they do the "breakdown". It was so much fun!!!!!!
Agreed, Boytoy26. No matter what age you are, you're a kid in Disneyland.
My mom dreamed of finally visiting Disneyland ever since she was a little girl. When I finally got her out to California and she entered Disneyland, standing at the entrance to Main Street USA and could see the castle at the far end, she cried like a baby. It was a dream come true for her, and we both felt like little kids all over again. No other place does that. Only Disneyland.
Any disney park takes you back to childhood, I thought I wasn't going to like Disneyland Paris just as much but as soon as I saw the beautiful fountain and crossed the park's gates I felt that magical feeling and that disney bug bite just as I felt when I visited WDW and DL
It was amazing see people's reactions, couples laughing and dancing around as if nobody was watching and many cute family scenes you only see at disney parks :D
@Ovrkyl yeah not even universal studios or seaworld JUST DISNEY no mather if is disneyland or walt disney world ...
wen you at the parking you are a normal person
wen you enter you are a kid whit much imagination wen i was here i just said "its gona be lame cuz disney is for little kids"but wen i enter to mgm and saw fantasmic i shited meself
its never too late to go to disneyland . i took my partner fo rth efirst time and hes 43 for the first tim eno whes obsessed and wants go every year and buy an annual pass .. and we live in australia .
This parade actually makes me cry. That bit about "this had to be the most beautiful, the most peaceful place..." So true about Disneyland. I could spend every day there and watch this parade over and over.
one of the best parades disney has ever done only slightly below main street electrical. Wish they would bring this back or do one similar to it instead of the stupid celebrate a street party that dose not even use disney music.
Nice! Seems like fun! haven't been to disneyland since was like 10yrs old. I"m 23 yr old girl and loves Disney toons. This parade looks awsome, only missing Aladdin and Princess Jasmine..

@95abbyf

@95abbyf
And I wouldn't mind working for Disney~ I mean, they're usually pretty open for ideas and I'd wanna try to help get them out of the slight trouble they're in now financially. I hope they keep getting more money so they can keep going. :O Sometimes they do make movies that aren't that good, but everyone loves it when they do great!

i agree! It doesn't matter if you're 1or 100. Disneyland is magical for everyone!
Boytoy26 2 years ago 28
Agreed, Boytoy26. No matter what age you are, you're a kid in Disneyland.
My mom dreamed of finally visiting Disneyland ever since she was a little girl. When I finally got her out to California and she entered Disneyland, standing at the entrance to Main Street USA and could see the castle at the far end, she cried like a baby. It was a dream come true for her, and we both felt like little kids all over again. No other place does that. Only Disneyland.

Beautiful story!
Any disney park takes you back to childhood, I thought I wasn't going to like Disneyland Paris just as much but as soon as I saw the beautiful fountain and crossed the park's gates I felt that magical feeling and that disney bug bite just as I felt when I visited WDW and DL
It was amazing see people's reactions, couples laughing and dancing around as if nobody was watching and many cute family scenes you only see at disney parks :D
divacat80 2 years ago
@Ovrkyl yeah not even universal studios or seaworld JUST DISNEY no mather if is disneyland or walt disney world ...

This parade actually makes me cry. That bit about "this had to be the most beautiful, the most peaceful place..." So true about Disneyland. I could spend every day there and watch this parade over and over.

lacrosse19az 2 years ago
one of the best parades disney has ever done only slightly below main street electrical. Wish they would bring this back or do one similar to it instead of the stupid celebrate a street party that dose not even use disney music.
