  • as a leftwinger, let me tell you that the SNP is full of businessmen who will tell YOU to vote for SNP.

i HOPE you do, then dump snp after you become a nation. alex, you see, is maggie thatcher in drag. a right winger, a tory. even so, stick with him, then support anyone who is leftwing. inlaw trade unionism and co-op movements. PLEASE. or you face will be used as ARSE PAPER. Just look south of your wee border today and see what is happening. THE TRADE UNIONS ARE ON THE WAY BACK. RE-ARMED!!

  • the first thing alex salmond will do when (not if, but when!) he becomes Scotland's first Teeshock (PM) is to give himself and his cabinet a payrise. secondly, he will increase the size of all pollyticker's pensions, index linked, tax free. Just look at SOUTHERN FUCKING IRELAND. Our pollytickers RAPE us and we let them get away with it. REBELS, MY ARSE. Scots, keep your eyes and ears open and keep your enemies nearer than your wee friendsl Ock me dearies!

  • PLAY to the gallery. dublin does. brussells still thinks they owed us billions. she owed us fuck all.

"look at how england robbed us" and brussels fall for it. even rome falls for this darby o'gill and paddy maginty's donkey. rome still thinks we are a nation of gombeens who hate Protestants. we don't (only the lower class ones do). We rebelled againsts london. the rebel spirit is DEAD. we do not rebel against dublin. WE HAVE NO BACK BONE TO BREAK, YOU SEE. I hope the scots have.

  • BUT how would scotland fare in the new world. a bit like hansel and gretel in the strange forest.

Look at three quarters of ireland. ER, IN SECOND THOUGHTS, DON'T. look at israel or india, half the age of dublin gov't,, and see what they have amassed in half a century - THE BOMB. all fucking dublin has is a bunch of wankers voted for by a bunch of wankers with begging bowls. But brussels falls for this Poor Me, Poor Mouth. Method in our madness, you see!! AND WE MADE MILLIONS, WASTED IT!!

  • you have to learn how to walk before you can run.

let scotland take its time in deciding its own future.

you are not children, you have long trousers now, you can debate what needs to be debated.

others cultures have no right to tell YOU how to think or how to vote.

other cultures have their own agendas. think about that first before you agree with them.

or if you want peace, agree with them - just to get rid of them! THEN SCOTLAND WILL TAKE HER PLACE AMONGST THE NATIONS OF THIS WEE PLANET

  • SAOR ALBA means Free Scotland and there is one free with every packet of kellogg's cornflakes!!

seriously, though, what does GAEL mean? Here in southern ireland, we have appropriated it to mean Celt or Irish (as if WE were the only celts in the world!!!!!). ALBA means Scot and is there fore singular. the plural is Albanee (as in Albany, New York)! there! you see, you learn some thing new every day. Now, out and buy the kellogg's!

  • Thank you, from a proud Skiwi, grand daughter of a Scot in New Zealand. This was awsum and the sounds of those pipes and drums always rouses the spirits.

  • Albannach is great, and so is Iron Maiden. Great idea to put Eddie in there.

  • that picture at 0:20 would so be me

  • I'm curious about something; if there is one, can I be told the difference or distinction between the rebel identities of the Scottish and Irish? When concerning Ireland one of course seems to think more of relatively recent times concerning the IRA and whatnot, and it seems to still be something of a sore issue. But while Scotts certainly take pride in their historical struggles, there seems to be little active resentment towards England. Is there even a Scottish seperatist party or anything?

  • @duerksjv There are no sepratists in Scotland only Nationalists. Democracy is working. Scotland and The SNP are working with a mandate that is from a clear majority of Scotlands voters. Freedom is closer now than it has been since Bruce took to the field at Bannockburn. Alex Salmond is our new saviour in Scotland.. Saor Alba......

  • @TheJacobiker snp have majority but only 43 percent land mass most desly populated areas glasgow and sorrounding easy and south wont make a majority vote i want independance but were not ready .....yet

  • @SlipySama.. The days near and when it comes will be the day that all the souls who died, those for whom this video was dedicated, will be justified, Scotlands liberty. I think we are ready for 2014 and more importantly, The First Minister thinks we are ready. Saor Alba!!!

  • Alba Gu Bràth!

  • Unless from the Westcoast, the Scots are Gaelic by culture and language only, not blood.

  • the art is amazing... every detail down to a fallen hero, knocked down; his breath coming out like smoke over the cold battlefield...

  • cool is ja lustig

  • Scottish music is awesome. I really don't get bored listening to Scots music.

  • If I had one wish,

I only wish we could make clarity out of the whole pict, norman, norse thing.

Every other place on earth can at least trace its roots a little bit,

The Celtic isles kind of just lived life, coasted along on their own beleifs and felt no need to write it down.

    Maybe they were right,

    and im wrong.

maybe we should just go back to living that way, never need to care who came where or why, or what color or race they are.

    to just live undocumented.

  • Yeah, up to my great great grandparents we've lived in the U.S, but im full blooded Scot.

  • - First and Foremost I find my identity in Christ

    - I am a patriot to the USA and will give my life to support freedom and equality (not the way it is right now but the way it was meant to be)

-2sd, I will never forget where my bloodline comes from. I am a Campbell ( originally kambul I believe ) and my Scottish heritage is what my life (besides Christ) is based upon. The same will be for my kids, their kids, and so on.

FEAR NOTHING, GIVE EVERYTHING IN THE NAME OF CHRIST, SCOTLAND FOREVER

  • @soup460 now thats the best and truest comment on the page! jesus saves

    ! SCOTLAND!!!!!

  • Heather despite seeing Scottish Regiments in paintings from the Crimean War Defense of Balaclava and Wellingtons use of the Scots Greys at Waterloo. It is a fitting tribute. Those men who joined the Colours of the Scottish Regiments were still Scots. And Remember many of them joined the Army out of the need to feed their Families after the defeat at Cullonden and during the Clearances of the Highlands. Don't let any one disparge their Service and their Sacrifice. My opinion only

  • @Sipatbana ~ Thank you! :-)

  • This song always has me pumped! :D

  • Heather I hope you don't mind but I put your video on my Face Book Account. To share with friends of mine From David McKenzie

  • tribute to all European patriots..14 words !

  • Kick ARSE!

  • I really don't get why people care so much about Gaelic, it was never spoken by a majority of Scottish people. It was only ever spoken by a minority in the highlands and west coast, in the central belt and north east Brythonic, Pictish and Scots were spoken, by the majority of Scots.

  • @TheXand19 Because if it weren't for the power struggle between the Stewarts & MacDonalds (guess who lost) highland gaelic would've been the official language of Scotland. Watch "A History of Scotland" on youtube for full details.

  • @TheXand19 Because there is a resurgence of the Highland Gaelic tongue that at one time was spoken by people of the Highlands & the Hebrides. The highland clearences were never forgotten & as Scotland itself seeks independence from great britain the scots are taking back the language that was denied them for so long. Even the street signs are bilingual. Gaelic on top, english on bottom, as it should be.

  • Adrenaline rush through the ears :)

  • This would make me enter a battle feeling proud anytime

  • This would make me enter a battle with pride anytime :)

  • 'gael' is irish, irish00barbarian, correct. but the word refers to the peoples that spoke the gaelic language which would mean scots too. they came from ireland and are now in north and west scotland, proud of the connection. apart from the sectarian pieces of shit in the south like glasgow. cant stand that shite.

  • The Vid's a brilliant and shows the time line well and fairly accurate.. Brilliant effort well done. Great tribute to all Freedom Fighters

  • @kungfoohy5599 Naw Dont agree, Clan an Drumma were the originals but its a big world and room for all..

  • @HeatherMac320 aye ye do

  • The Gaels Settled on the west coast of Scotland 1700 years back and became Scots. Only the picts had earlier claim to the land mass of whats now Scotland. Picts Gaels Scotti were unified in 844 under King Kenneth Macalpine. You must surley know this? ye cani say a man is no longer of a particular Race cos he becomes an economic migrant..Scots are Gaels nae mistake neebur

  • @TheJacobiker ~ <3 xxx

  • @TheJacobiker I think no matter the disambiguation, we later also had Norse blood flowing in our veins and shared our cultures, I think today the best term, as many of the peoples today are more so intertwined in the northern reaches of Britain, it is just better and more encompassing to say CELTS!!!!!

And awesome this Lass used the Iron Maiden CLANSMAN Eddie in this!

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 @GoldenAxeVox666 Aye! the video is awesome and the best tribute on you tube in my opinion, with the message that it's sending. Your right on the Norse influx too and the mixing of blood. Many clans have norse origins including my own. I take humbridge however to your reffering to the part of the land mass that makes up my nation Scotland, as Northern reaches of Britian.. NOreal Scot acknoledges Britian in any form

  • @TheJacobiker I say Britain in the sense of the British isles, including Ireland the Hebrides, Orkney, Shetlands, the mainland, just an all encompassing geographic noun, nothing to do with nationality.......

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJacobiker Also laddy, I'm English and Irish as well, I'm a well rounded Celt

  • @GoldenAxeVox666 Hey pal i'm nae yin's Laddie and I dont mind if your Englis or afro carinean I have no issue with a mans race only with the defending of Scotlands soveringty and to get her out of the uk and the Brit mindset. The land mass we share with the southern neighbors is one that has always been divided by one force or another. Today its by Pride and Passion. The blood is strong and The line is very long, the line is Scottish Not Brittish.. Be at peace neebur Saor Alba

  • @TheJacobiker I agree with their Sovereign status, they won a parliment at least, and stole back the stone of scone, but for 2000 years, the island chain has been known as Brittania, but really, its all just Celtic peoples in one way or another mate.

  • @TheJacobiker "Only the Picts had earlier claim to the land mass of whats Scotland" Really? What about the Welsh? We ruled all the lowlands before the coming of the Gaels. The Picts only ruled the Highlands. The last Welsh kingdom in the landmass that is know Scotland thrived until the early 11th century, the Kingdom of Cumbria Allt Clud, known by the Scots as Strathclyde. This is the land William Wallace came from.

  • @converter7 \aye your right The Britons who held dumbarton and strathclyde did settle and flourish but they did not have the control of the land mass os Scotland, as the Gaels did under Keneth Mclpine. The picts had control of almost all of Scotland The Kingdom of fife was pictish heart land right to the central belt of clye and forth and it was the Northumbrians who held most of the lothians prior. I agree about Wallace and his origins

  • @TheJacobiker The Northumbrians were Welsh (Cymry) too, before being conqured by the Angles. The North Cumbrian lands, what we call 'yr Hen Ogledd' (the Old North) in Welsh (Cymraeg) was conquered by the Angles, with Strathclye being the oly undefeated kingdom. Despite the Angles conquering our lands in north England and south Scotland, they never destroyed us but just ruled over us, which is why they called the land North Cumbria or Northumbria. Unfortunately they assimulted to

  • @TheJacobiker Angle culture and language and became Englisc over time. Fortunately, the Gaels and Picts reclaimed the fallen Cumbrian lands in the area that became Scotland (I guess Strathclyde was already to weak by this time to expand and reclaim fallen lands). And so, the Cumbrians came back under Celtic rule as they joined the Gaels and Picts to form the ultamate Celtic nation. As for Lothian, this was the Cumbrian kingdom of Gododdin until the 7th century.Alba Saor-Cymru Rhydd

  • @TheJacobiker Also, the Gaels were an Irish tribe called the Scotti from Ulster. Scotland has been a mix of Picts, Gaels and Welsh (all Celts), Wales has also been a mix of Welsh and Gaels. The Irish, Scots and Welsh are one people and should be brothers in arms. I will be voting Aye for Scottish independence and I urge my Scottish brothers to move to Wales before our referendum to vote Ie (yes) in our independence referendum when iut comes. Cymru am byth! Alba gu bràth!

  • @converter7 It was the Romans who named the Gaels Scotti and it was a derogetery term. Anyway the rest of your points I agree entirly and I wish you as much sucsess in your struggle for Independence as we your Celtic Bretheren are hoping for in Alba

  • Every type of music usually gets a genre at some point. If so, then this stuff must be Boulder Rock. You can feel vibrating through your bones. Awesome!

  • I feel like I have the irrepressible desire to light a giant bonfire in the apartment parking lot, and start dancing.

  • Learn the history of the Celts and Scotlands free online with the Historyscoper. See my page for the url.

  • Albannach is really great, Ive seen them at a celtic festival few years back

  • The english labeled every1 as savages or barbarians back then, and then proceed to rape and butcher in the name of god, truly fuked up isn't it?

Scottish children don't get taught Scottish history, it makes very sad reading indeed, and they've been anglicizing us for hundreds of years, were all brain washed into accepting english rule, they are sneaky like snakes..

now look at the state of things today?

  • Edinburgh ...there the correct spelling ...The reason those tourists made that comment was they obivously were snobs. Thanks for your comment toocka45.

  • It's spelled "Edinburgh" and the reason they said that is because next to noone speaks Gaelic in Scotland, the only people speaking it being from rural communities out in the sticks. It wasn't even spoken in Edinburgh or any of the major Scottish cities either.

  • That is not strictly true. The very name Glasgow is a corruption of a Gaelic phrase which means ''dear green place''. The people who founded the city clearly spoke Gaelic. The original inhabitants of these Islands spoke no English whatever. And even the Germanic Anglo-Saxons and Danes spoke nothing like what is now called English.

  • I am from The east coast of Canada , of Scottish descent (Isle of Skye) I do agree they were great warriors. The trouble is most times they couldn't see past there own clan . Because of this The Brits defeated and subdued them . I met a group of Scottish tourists from Edinborough . I made a comment in the Gaelic . They just looked at me . I asked if they spoke the Gaelic to which one answered "No we are civilized " . I damn near puked on his fancy shoes.

  • @mite43 That's so fudged up man (on their part not yours). I really dislike when people hold their noses up at others thinking they're high and mighty. Because whether they like it or not they're just as much a descendant from barbarians as everyone else in the human species.

  • They were slobs. I'm Scottish born & bred and I for one am proud of our ancient tongue. Nor do I live out in sticks. I'm from Lanarkshire. Don't pay attention to those who disgrace their ancient tongue.

    Saor Alba! :)

  • The Gaels were great warriors just like the Cherokees.

  • Wonderful!

  • funny how all these liberals in america think i have mental disease of alcholism and liking women,(call me a pervert) Im Scottish american and it is not mental it is in my blood from my ancestors you idiots.

  • @race88100 Liberals SUCK! They're hypocrites. They talk "going green" yet I, who live it everyday through foraging, wildcrafting, hunting , fishing & trapping & consume a hell of a lot less hydrocarbons than they could ever think of, have labelled me hick, redneck, but when those yuppies get lost out in the Florida swamps who does the law call to find them? Me.

  • @Inquisitor53

To bad if the "green movement" had its way wed all be living like that.

Open your eyes and realize this,

    and youd spew less ignorance.

  • @ABOM420 What ignorance? I know of what I typed. "... wed (sic) all be living like that." Really? A lot of them would die a horrible death in learning process. Do you know the difference between a crabapple and manchineel? Queen-Ann's lace or parsley from water hemlock? My eyes have been open for many decades. So inform me how I'm spewing ignorance, if you can.

  • scottish men are real men but americans are bred from us.:) tell them too come to glasgow it`s a gas :)

  • I have any question...where do the pics come from?

    ...at 2:12 , 0:26 and 0:20!!!

    Thx!!!

  • It's funny, in the state I live in Georgia a lot of people in my school made fun of the scots, simply because of their kilts. Saying that why would you let people in "skirts" fight for you. It seems that I was the only person to stand up for them. Our generation has no respect for real fighters. It's odd though that in Georgia they would say it. Since a lot of scots settled in the hills here. No one poked fun of the Irish considering they also wear kilts. I'M PROUD TO BE SCOTTISH! ^^

  • Consider this. That many of those same Scots were Farmers and Clansmen. They lived in an enviroment of Harshness of the Land itself. But loved their Glens and Hills. It was The Blood and their love of their homeland and their families. That made them fierce in Battle. Consider this too. That many a Rebel in the Revoluntary War wore stocking socks and knee length Pants. Yet fought the British. Tell me where is the difference lays

  • I'm simply saying that it wasn't right to make fun of the Scots when they did a great deal to help Georgia. I just didn't like my class saying the Scottish couldn't fight or would be a mockery because of their kilts. That was all they said too. Could you explain more fully what you are trying to say in your last three sentences. I'm not quite sure I understand what you are trying to say.

  • Simple the Blood of the Highlander runs deep into his very core and being. It involves that of not only his HOME but HIS FAMILY (CLAN) and all that goes with it including his Family Tartan or Plaid or his Kilt Kisames. It is in the BLOOD the core of his being. As it is claimed the Blood Runs Strong. Which refers to his Family and him belonging to a Clan. As for reference about the American Rebels in War of Independance their clothing could be seen as somewhat less masculine

  • AYE!

  • my bloodline is from wedale! in the parish of stow outside of edinburgh

  • Im a macleod septs of harris and lewes, highlander

  • Such power....all the way through me bones!

  • Great music, great work, my Gaelic sister!

  • Get's the Scottish blood pumping alright.

    Albannach!!!

  • That's awesome. Go SCOTLAND and I'm not even Scottish. :D That I know of anyways lol..

  • guys what does albanach means ?

  • it means scottish or scotsman.

  • alban means eagle in old albanian language or in illyric and including the fact that some of illyrians got mixed with gauls and scotts made me think about this maybe these words have a relation between each other

  • ''From Scotland'' or ''Scottish'' I would assume, since Eirennach means ''from Ireland'' or ''Irish''

  • great video editing

  • Saw these guys live at Ohio Renn Faire this year. The energy they have on stage just energizes everyone watching, was a great experience.

  • ALBA GU BRATH!!!!!

  • I love Albannach! Great pictures you used--makes me proud I'm a Celt.

  • People who live in the highlands and have the ancient clan surnames are likely to have Pictish blood, as well as Norse and Scottish, and these people are most likely to have the least diluted blood since the Pictish kingdom. But i wouldnt go as far as to say the majority of Scots are more pictish. Although Pictish blood is around Scottish culture became vastly dominant north of the central belt.

  • Great video but I'd just like to point out the majority of the Scots are actually descended from Picts and native Britons. The Gaels were invaders of what was to become Scotland, much like the Anglo-Saxons were invaders of what became England.

  • Saor Alba!

Great video and track - many thanks for posting

  • I'm blessed with an almost even split of Scottish and Irish blood. Born and bred in Scotland and intensly proud of this. And yes this music stirs my blood to point that I would gladly pick up the broadsword, even at my age.Fantastic.

  • Alba Gu Brath! I'll never forget the land of my ancestors! Greetings from the Southern U.S.

  • every time I watch it! ;)
