the announcer says that the blade is 20 cm long(8 inches) so you have to be at least 8 inches apart from the cucumber to actually hit the cucumber with the knife and then he says that the cucumber was sliced right in the middle of the blade so the car must have been about 4 inches apart from the cucumber
