I really liked this interview, the way he talked about music industry, the media, the album, his childhood and Mary :)
I remember I was watching that interview when I was 13 and I was crying because nobody took me to that concert in Monterrey XD I just watched it on telly (so depressing). I wish they come back some day, I truly love The Cure and Mr. Robert Smith.
a shallow person would look at robert and 1st impression would be he is a freak bc of his image. its just theatrics. listen to the integrity he has and how well spoken. he is so insightful and makes for a very interesting person to interview. I would love to have some drinks with him and have a conversation.
robert smith...you're the man! I've just welled up knowing somebody else (especially someobyd as frickin cool as you) sings along his own words and looses himself to mogwai! Thanku!
Robert is so cool in this interview which is made clear by how he handles this completely idiotic interviewer. What is he [theinterviewer] laughing about? I think Robert was very kind to him by trying to take him seriously. What a total sweetheart!
I just wonder if this guy really understands what Robert is saying. At 2:02 after talking about trust being abused and being lied and let down by politicians and people he ends with "that's human nature"... and the interview just laughs!! Ermmm so what was the joke?
Jesus Christ, who translated this? At 3:50 the guy asks "if you could go back in time and see yourself during the time of 3 imaginary boys"... and the translation reads "if you could go back in time and see yourself as a little kid".
I love Robert Smith. Wow. I have like, no words to explain how great that was. He's hilarious, obviously brilliant, and quiet cute! I actually really like that album too. It isn't the best, but it's a good one! Thank you for this! Robert, i freaking love you
btw i love how the interviewer goes high pitched at the end and says "CARNALES" hahahah so mexican, and i mean that in a fantastic way, love mexico city, people are amazing.

It's ironic that as Smith slams the media for making things "simplistic," he falls into the same trap in condemning Blair. AND when he says that Blair was "Following North America's lead," what he really means is the United States of America. Nor did he even try to explain why that is automatically a bad thing. I suppose the U.S. and its military should have had Smith's attitude during World War II. If it did, Smith would never have had the luxury to write $ongs and travel the world.
dios q hermosa entrevista. no es normal verlo asi de relajado en una entrevista, y dice cosas muy lindas. sobretodo la parte de que el amor es la incapacidad de comprender el mundo si esa otra persona... ayy robin te amo tanto! <3
wow I never knew that he was such a nice person. As a teen I really enjoyed the cure but thought they weren't very attractive, now I've got a bit of a crush on Robert. :D
That interviewer seems like a sodding idiot to me.. laughs like a fucking sheep and only asks simplistic questions. Of course, interviewing Robert, the answers are interesting, but god.. I'd get really aggravated if only asked questions like "what is your biggest/favorite/etc"!
Robert is amazing. His interviews are so exciting to watch and to listen to him speak is simply the best. He is such a normal person and its so awesome to listen to how he feels and what he has to say about anything and everything.....he is simply MAGIC!! CAN'T WAIT TIL JUNE IN NYC AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN & RADIO CITY!!!! LOVE YOU ROBERT!!!!
Around the time of a new album and/or tour Robert does tons of interviews. Bottom line is the Mexican dude was just doing the best that he can and being himself. Robert gave him a professional courtesy and was just simply being nice to the guy....and providing an insight on himself to his fans in Mexico who were watching.
me encanta su acento porque le entiendo, aunque me encantan mis bandas gringas hermosas de repente como que no entiendo lo que dicen pero el habla bastante clarito
It's like the Mexican version of The Chris Farley Show! But, I like this due, he's doing the best he can and the questions are refreshing and RS goes along with it all with class. In regards to the interviewer, he's just being himself, and that's all you can be, and I think that's cool.....
I agree, but it's still kind of strange that Robert Smith chose to do an interview conducted by this guy (I read in another post that Smith doesn't do many interviews), cause he's not quite spot on if you don't mind my saying. His reactions are weird at times, as if his english is not good enough to fully comprehend Smith's answers. Anyway, we still get interesting answers so I'm not complaining.
I remember this interview... the interviewer's laugh is SO annoying! Still, a rare moment of Robert Smith letting it all out, something I haven't seen in other interviews (perhaps due to the ingenuity of the interviewer himself). There's something about Mexican fans and The Cure... they are just crazy about them and R. Smith!! I know I am... is it a cultural thing?

The interviewer's laugh is distracting and annoying. It seems that a couple of times Robert is even bothered by it.
Other than that, it's a great interview with Robert Smith.
