  • It's so weird to hear him speak naturally lol.

  • @MissLeighSays it is sooo awkward!!! i'm used to him talkin with an american accent!

  • i thought the woman was excited to meet Hugh.....

  • RIGHT MOW HUGH LAURIE'S MEST FRIEND IS VOMITING.... AND HE'S BARELLY VOMITING HIS FUCKING SAKING SANE.

  • Right. Yes he's British and so am I. But I do not have a british accent and i dont really say im british.....Its an English accent and i'm english, britain incompesses wales and scotland who have very different accents. narrow it down abit please, it just botheres me slightly.

  • What a good sport he is!! Reading 'The Gun Seller' now, and had to get a dose of him.

  • It's like I can read his thoughts when he falls in the water X_X

  • WTF IS HOUSE? I don't even.... I mean, I'm sorry, but, Blackadder and Fry and Laurie will always be....

  • ha ha! LOL at his expression at 8:05 when the audience screamed. Awww! He is super cute and funny. I love him.

  • He's so funny. I love whenever he's on Ellen's show.

  • Is it possible that he is 52 and so sexy?! Hugh Laurrie confirms it :D

  • lmao that lady thinks she's 12 and seeing santa clause for teh first time, "OHMYGEE. /waves arms everywhere."

  • will americans please stop saying the generic ''i had no idea he was british!!!?!!!'' do some research or look at the bloody comments before stating it, once again!

  • why does everyone laugh when Ellensays exactly the same as what Hugh JUST said!! he's much funnier. ellen's humour whilst not bad, just is one dimentional and a bit obvious

  • I'm sorry but how can people still not know that he's British? He's been on House for 7 years people!!! and yeah watch all the other pre-House stuff he's done in England - the man is amazing. Particularly love Maybe Baby, A bit of Fry and Laurie, Peter's friends, FortySomething etc.... the list could go on and on (not including the book he wrote and his new CD - one must ask is there anything he can't do?) :D

  • I had no idea he was British.

  • @volleyballer326 on the ball aren't you

  • wow he's british

  • i was shocked to just found out that he is British.

  • @xdan87 Wow ....

  • For all the Americans who have never seen Hugh Laurie before house here's some useful info: he is usually paired with Stephen Fry as they were comedy partners for a long time. I suggest watching these :

    Black adder series 3 & 4

A bit of fry and laurie

    Maybe baby english version

    Jeeves and Wooster

And lots more hope this is useful :)

  • I had NO idea he was British.

    amazing haha.

  • @bren991993 Never seen the old laurie?

  • he is amazing love him :))) so gorgeous

  • Los Angeles looked like a gas station. It even smelled like a gas station. LOLZ.

  • WHATTTT IS THIS ACCENT

  • @bill283

It's an English accent as spoken by an Englishman.

The number of Americans who think that Hugh Laurie is one of theirs is very worrying. There's a big wide world full of very talented people out there you know!

  • ...He looks awesome at all ages. <3

  • omg this man is gorgeous!

  • yes, guys, he really is british(and is an amazing actor in other things) and no, other guys, you are not the only one that knows he is indeed british and was fantastic in things like a bit of fry and laurie.so everything settled know?

  • @BlueHippo317 people's comments really got on your nerves huh?

  • Why, for like a 50 year old guy, is he SO HOT???

  • @floralfrosting Johnny Depp is just about his age also :)

  • LIVE Adaptation of 100 and 1 dalmations! I loved him in that, along with many other English comedies.

  • He was so awesome in Blackadder, specially in the War series. God I loved George xD

  • everyone says oh its hugh laurie from house.... im not the only one that still goes oh its hugh laurie from blackadder and a bit of fry and laurie am i?? :(

  • @kittycat13458 Nope ;)

  • @kittycat13458 Of course not, he was awesome in both of those shows. He shall forever be the awkward, naive character from Blackadder.

  • @kittycat13458 and stuart little!

  • @kittycat13458 No , you're not. I remember him from Jeeves and Wooster...

  • @kittycat13458 not at all

  • @kittycat13458 no you're not

  • @kittycat13458 nope . i am the same .

  • I was totally expecting him to limp.

  • ellen is cool but she stutters more than porky pig and King George VI 's ilegitimate son.

  • i dont get why people make such a big deal about british humor vs american humor. to me it all comes down to style. there are different types of comedians all over the world, i myself enjoy dry humor like letterman and laurie defentley has a little of that going on

  • How the hell did Robert Pattinson get double the views on youtube from Ellen Degeneres than Hugh Laurie? There is something severely wrong with that! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @SheBPadfoot totally agree!!!,,, greetings from México!!! : )

  • @TheAtos1984 Then you have great taste my friend. Very good taste in actors and people in general. :D

  • @SheBPadfoot oh!!! thanks!!!... I really appreciate your comment!!! : )

  • @SheBPadfoot factor in the british accent clip and Robert Pattinson can go die in a vat of glitter

  • @SheBPadfoot it's because Laurie's British

  • HUGH LAURIE. WET ENOUGH SAID

  • Hugh 8:04 hahaha! Gosh, I love him.

  • Anyone know who the woman in the bottom left corner of the photo is?

  • @notnek011 Siobhan Redmond; Alfresco 2

  • @notnek011 Siobhan Redmond; Alfresco may be clips on youtube

  • I would love it if he kept the british accent on House :D

  • The dunk is so funny because Hugh made sure he went right under. He is so tall he probably could've just stood up and only gotten the bottom half wet, but he is such a good sport about these things. Love him.

  • 'wouldn't commit to a kettle' do I only find that funny because I'm british? *sigh* americans have no sense of humour

  • @MrAlex3597 I found it funny.

Then again, I'm a Canadian, raised by a British mother. I was weaned off of milk and on to tea...

  • @MrAlex3597 yes i was disappointed as well the audience and ellen seemed to not even comprehend half of laurie whit, but its a different culture and they still love him just the same. So does it all matter in the end?

  • @MrAlex3597 LOl :) I'm british too...

  • @steeplechasers yeah, same. Those were the best for me too.

  • he seemed sooooo chillax and laid back.... :D

  • Hugh face on 5:11 ;d

  • LMAO

House's House. ahahahahahhaa thats sick XD

  • Hugh is now and ever shall be a class act . I'd follow him in all pursuits, music, acting, whatever. There's enough class in his pinkie to make up for a lot of men. My hubby not included (he's another class act.).

  • 8:14 Hugh is like stunded, like wtf

  • a perfectly good tuxedo ruined xD (by the way my brother an I are in LOVE with his show hose!!!!!)

  • reminds me, must download blackadder.

him, stephen fry and rowan atkinson were at their best in that.

  • What? What? What? What?! And the Doc goes down!!

  • oh wow ... it's just crazy to act like that, pulling him by the arm and everything..

  • crazy woman flapping her arms about

  • He needs to get back on TV with Stephen, those two where comedy gods.

  • Muahhhhh!! I just love Hugh!

  • the next time i meet an englishman im gunna ask if he has a tux in the trunk of his car XD ahaha jkjk

  • an Englishman would never have a tux in the boot of his car...he may have his DJ, Dinner Jacket or colloquially his 'Penguin Suit' but tux? Never! It is an American term after it was introduced at the country club Tuxedo Park by James Brown-Potter, a New York coffee broker. He visited the Prince of Wales in 1886. He didn't know what to wear to dinner and was referred the the Prince's tailor who made him a Dinner Jacket.

  • @roseofmercy yea i nevr knew the DJ or 'Peguin Suit' stuff so I just said tux but hey now i kno (plus im american that would xplain y i used that term 2 xP)

  • I sense disappointment. His 'real' voice sounds essentially the same to me. His accent maybe a little more US than it was but then he has been (t)here for a long time now. And he's an actor, his posh voice, even b4 he moved, was always a little exaggerated. Hugh - what d'you think, are you now less posh?

  • @buglous He hadn't been in America long when he started House, and I don't think his poshness is exaggerated: He was born, raised and educated in Oxford.

  • @samtheman152009 Sorry, that should've read 'his posh voice', even before he moved, was always a little exaggerated ...... but that was only my opinion. I think he was educated in Cambridge, where he was part of the Cambridge footlights theatrical thing(y). As to his his 'poshness' in real life, I'm not sure what that would mean? How d'you calibrate poshness? Loveliness is much easier to assess, I think. And I'm sure he's 'fully lovely' in 'real' life.

  • "Wot wot wot wot?!?!?!"

  • What's up with his voice lately? He used to have a very distinctive voice, but nowadays, even when he talks in an English accent, he sounds so... unlike himself. Even before House - c.f. his guest appearance on Friends.

  • @IoEstasCedonta i would imagine he used to slightly exaggerate his english accent for the american audience and now he's accepted in america he can relax and talk more like himself. or maybe he has just lived in america so long that he's lost his very posh english accent

  • 8:02 - Hugs Face... Hahahahaaa greaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • herifi şopara çevirmişler amk

  • ..........this is so american............

  • Hugh is sexy enough to turn Ellen straight.

  • @fox9ninja the best comment ever!!!)))))

  • @fox9ninja jaja you think so ???? He is amazing

  • When he came out in that tux, that is just sex in a man!

  • @ButteryJam I'm American, my mom had DVD's of A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and of Jeeves and Wooster LONG before he was in House. You're so stereotypical.

  • Makes me proud to be English :D

  • Ok all americans know him you have proved me wrong now let us all go back to our lives and stop listing the things we've seen him in.

  • 7:30

    what a sexy beast X3

  • lmao "what what WHAT?!"

  • Please stop commenting i corrected my self already

"For the record maybe saying that "americans" think house is the only thing he did was a little sweeping. What i meant is that he is onky given credit for his work in house and very rarely and of his other work. Like if i didn't know about him i'd think this is all he'd been in."

  • Any fans of Hugh should experience his comic genius in the sketch show he co-wrote and performed with Stephen Fry called Fry and Laurie, his portrayal of a singing English aristocratic dolt in Jeeves and Wooster and his recurring roles in Blackadder. You will see what range and talent he has. It all makes House as a show look sort of mediocre.

  • if you like hugh then search blackadder 3, the best/funniest role he`s played

  • youtube.com/watch?v=CgKTc0wKIys

A little bit of Petrushka and Savvushka:

2 Russian russian gay-idiot scetch perfomed by Skelet and Trollo

dwarf idiot on the left side was taulght by the teacher (Gaint on right side) how to draw

a hair (1 day) and the sun (the second day)

  • @Butteryjam Not all americans, blackadder, a bit of fry and laurie, stuart little, a book, oarsmen for a while,. I'm an american and have followed him for a while. So, stereotype disproved?

  • @CaNdY8477

Almost!!... you've missed all the movies from the 90' with Emma Thompson!!! ;))

  • @CaNdY8477 Lol, stereotype not disproved since you're only one guy. Though we can say the stereotype doesn't apply to you.

  • LOL Poor Hugh! She cheated!!!!!

  • @Clarestovold She didn't really cheat because Ellen told her if she had problems with the throwing she could just go up and hit the button ;)

  • @SweetPea2288 Ohhh, lol, I didn't hear that bit :P Still though, poor Hugh XD

  • he could of been a james bond

  • @isabeltulloch American's like "twilight", what does that tell you? They know nothing about anything!

  • thats not really his tux/suit...

  • For the record maybe saying that "americans" think house is the only thing he did was a little sweeping. What i meant is that he is onky given credit for his work in house and very rarely and of his other work. Like if i didn't know about him i'd think this is all he'd been in.

  • he walks out and I'm like: "oh shit, he forgot his cane, he's gonna fall!" ...... wait a seco....

  • Fry & Laurie & Jeeves & Wooster are great but its all about Blackadder 4 me, nothing comes close to that comedy its the mutts nutts as we say in London, lol

  • @keltictrix It's all about Blackadder 3 for me. The Prince Regent - I love that character. Then Blackadder Goes Forth

  • wow he does the american accent amazingly

  • Funny guy - I keep hoping that some day I'll turn on the telly, House will be on and in this new episode that Stephen Fry will appear as his brother. A brother, who is a real pain to House, because he is smarter than House is.

  • looks like a fat sarah palin

  • They bring him to ellen and every girl in the audience looked like a 13 year old at a justin bieber show

  • its not gas station hugh ur british its a petrol pump lol the americanisation begins

  • he have to now what "shawty " means !!!

  • nhigh laurie is so awsme (Y)

  • was that Robbie Coltrane in that picture???

  • @NaibElSayel You are absolutely right, it was Robbie Coltrane in that picture, besides Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Stephen Fry. I am sorry but I don't know the other woman and the glasses's man.

  • @melchott I thought so, he just looks SO young there its kind of funny. I'm not sure either, but I doubt every one of them in that picture is famous, that would be pretty crazy if they were.

  • @NaibElSayel Please check JamBar answer to my message, he is providing the names of the unknown couple, and at least Ben Elton is very familiar for me as the author of Blackadder, my favourite comedy, but just as a name, not a face.

  • @melchott It's Ben Elton in the glasses, English comedy writer and comedian, and Siobhan Redmond is the other woman, Scottish comedy actress.

  • @JamBar1873 Thanks a lot JamBar, I an absolut fanatic of Mr. Elton's Blackadder, and I have never seen him. About Mrs. Redmond, I am a complete ignorant. Thank you again for the information

  • @NaibElSayel Yes, and Stephen Fry and Ben Elton. The other woman, though, I don't know her. :)

  • LOL look at Hugh's reaction when that lady started screaming!!

  • so first he get gets drowned and then has to donate 10k dollars. did I get that right? I would've spent 20k for staying dry in that awesome suit ;-)

  • @hackebeil20 if you even had 20k. OW SNAP!

  • awww! he looks sooooo cute when he comes round the corner in his little tux!!!

  • A new song for Hugh to make his entrance on in an American talkshow (still not a too original choice;).Usually it is one of the Madness songs 'Our House' or 'House of fun'. I bet Hugh and Emma were a great couple: both extremely attractive, intelligent, funny and talented: some people just have it all....

  • @CF1975 And his children have Stephen Fry for a godparent...

  • She's cheating! LOL

  • The difference about boundaries is... if a woman grabs a man's arm or hand it's fine, but if a man grabs a woman's arm or hand it's sexual assault...

  • 333,333rd view.

  • aw... house's house! :)

  • LOL look at hugh's reaction when that lady started screaming!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT WOMAN HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!

  • i don't really understand what everyone's saying about boundaries...i mean, c'mon, the chick was excited. it's not like she grabbed him, he hugged back

if they're talking about the woman that grabbed his hand, well i wouldn't count that either. i would be hyperventilating if hugh laurie just happened to walk right in front of me..

    correct me if i'm wrong

  • A kettle? No. A Coffee pot -- that would be citizenship. A teakettle would still be subversive.

    -

"Once you peel the scab off of Los Angeles..." Nice visual.

  • Black Adder Legend!

  • Obviously @bookworm266, the women are American, jeje. English women wouldn't have allowed themselves any craziness, would they?

  • What a wonderfully easy going man to be here and to do this for us. He has endured a lot of mental and emotional stress to be here for our entertainment. Yes, this is his craft, yes, he has decided to do this on his own free will, but it still does not take away the fact that I believe he is one of the hardest working paid actors in Hollywierd. *I agree those women need to be respectful of him and his boundaries. What a bunch of flakes.*

  • What a good sport he is, between agreeing to the dunk tank & enduring a random audience member running up to him & hugging him! o_O

  • He's so brilliant! Love Hugh Laurie! <3

  • hugh is absolutely awesome!

  • He's hilarious :D

  • it's so weird I watch House a lot! and seeing Hugh Lauri like him self is weird. Not that he's weird, but he is so different then his character House.

  • British accent is so cute!!!!

  • Hugh Laurie = <3

  • ellen is cute... when i get bore so i watch ellen show on youtube...

  • House's House hahaha ellen is FUNNY

  • I love the rug! That's so awesome!

  • dirt mummy that's cheating!

  • Man!!! That ladys got an arm!!

  • I hate that American's think house is the only thing he has ever done.

  • @Butteryjam who said that? -___-

  • @audreyyface He's been in many critically things appart from house, where were mentions of Blackadder or his work with Stephen Fry?

  • @Butteryjam I know... he's a big star in UK at least before he was House...

  • @Butteryjam No way, he's done so much more, he SUCH a talented musician, and so much more.

  • @insayndevilchild Yeh that's my point all the American interview's make it seem House is the only thing he's ever done, which is evidently not the case.

  • @Butteryjam i have never seen any one who doesn't know his older work to. Im partial to his work with monty python

  • @NaviReeOh Hugh Laurie wasn't a member of Monty Python, nor has he ever worked with them -_- Monty Python constituted of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. They were a large influence on the skit-show starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry called 'Fry and Laurie', though.

  • @Skarab117 look for the bit he did where his name consist of dropping a block and slapping a cop he has done some mp stuff

  • @NaviReeOh Trust me, he hasn't worked with MP. He's worked with various members AFTER they disbanded, but I am 97% sure he never worked with them as a group. I've tried finding your reference, but (perhaps unsurprisingly) Google needs something a little more specific than 'Hugh Laurie dropping a block and slapping a cop'. If you can actually find a link to any evidence of him working with them, I apologise and retract my statement, but there's no hint of them working together anywhere I can find

  • @Skarab117 @NaviReeOh

It's a sketch on his old BBC comedy show 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie'

    watch?v=hNoS2BU6bbQ&feature=related

  • @gollysmolly thanks! :)

  • @Skarab117 I don't really know what your dialogues were about, but if it's about Hugh's past work, recently a friend told me of one which was highly entertaining, called 'Wooster and Jeeves'. I only checked out some youtube videos, but I believe it was a great series :)

  • @mojojobster Yer, I've heard of it but I've not seen any of it yet. I've seen a bit of Fry and Laurie, though, always a classic

  • @Skarab117 i love stephen fry! brilliant :D they met in college and their work is fantastic

  • @mojojobster it's Jeeves and Wooster, from a series relating to Jeeves the Butler. It is why Jeeves is the traditional butler's name. Try watching A Bit of Fry and Laurie that is superb. I mean you have to understand that in England Fry and Laurie are national treasures. It is a little strange to see Laurie only now making it 'big' in America. In England he's been revered in a similar sense to Walken or Morgan Freeman for about twenty years.

  • @Butteryjam I love him in 101 Dalmatians AND Sense And Sensibility.

  • @Butteryjam I knoww!!! It's incredible how they don't mention all the comedy he's done when they are showing a photograph of the cast of Alfresco!

  • @igswonderworld

they dont mention the fact that he also knew robbie coltrane aswell .
