The new aluminum bats are a far cry from those of my youth when I first layed eyes on one around 1973 as a 12-year-old fat kid who couldn't run, or field to save his life but could hit the ball a country mile. I refused to use aluminum until about 8 years later when I got my hands on an 35 incher that felt like a feather in my hands. That pencil thin handle flared to a delightfully fat barrel allowed for some unbelievably easy wrist action and increased bat speed. I fell in love. Bye Bye wood!
By the way, a professional player using an aluminum bat means fatality to pitchers, lol.
