  • This was my favorite episode of the show.

  • Classic

  • C flat and B sharp can't exist. There's not a semitone between B and C.

  • @jleer1 Actually they do exist and I've used both. C-flat is the same tone as B natural, but it is a different note. Likewise, B-sharp is the same tone as C natural, but is a different note. Saying there can't be a C-flat or a B-sharp is like saying there can't be an F-double-sharp or a B-double-flat, both of which are extremely common.

  • @Keeper1st Yes, but why would you say C flat or B sharp, when you can just say B or C? It makes more sense to say that.

  • @jleer1 No it doesn't. If you're in a key in which C is sharp, are playing that note and want to use the lower chromatic neighboring tone, it's called a B-sharp -- not a C natural. If you're playing a D-flat dominant 7th chord, it is spelled D-flat, F, A-flat, C-flat. Spelling it with a B and not a C-flat would make no sense, as B is the sixth degree -- not the seventh. Same applies for double-sharps and double-flats. I've scored a B-double-flat chord before: Flatted sixth from key of D-flat.

  • @Keeper1st I understand that it is the musically correct term, but it would make sense to say the natural name, because it would be a simpler system.

  • @jleer1 No it wouldn't. Like I said, "B" is the sixth degree of "D" so when you're playing a Db7 dominant chord, that means the seventh degree (C) is flatted, thus C-flat -- not B. Look at Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, No. 13. It's F-sharp Major. Say the scale: F-sharp, G-sharp, A-sharp, B, C-sharp, D-sharp, E-sharp. It's E-sharp -- not F-natural. Can't have two F's in the scale. Bar 16 he plays VI chord, D-sharp Major. Spell it: D-sharp, F-double-sharp, A-sharp. It's F-double-sharp -- not G.

  • @Keeper1st Ok, ok. This video is a cartoon. I just came here to watch a cartoon... 3 weeks ago... and I didn't want to get into something like this. Ok, bye.

  • @jleer1 Sometimes cartoons are educational...!

  • anyone else while watching this think of Daffy's Rhapsody??? It's the same song and during the whole video I kept hearing him singing lolz ^^

  • @DevoBassGirl yes this one is a classic. I remember Liszt so well because we have the same birthday ^.^

  • Babs: I'm not in this cartoon either.

    5:20

    You liar, Babs!

  • epic fail x)

  • Ahhh Liszt. My earliest introductions to the beautiful world of classical music were born from cartoons like this. Thanks for posting.

  • @Liebling05 Ever since this episode aired I wondered who did this song. I always remembered the tune, but could not find out the composer, despite going to music school! :-P Thank you for posting this.

  • I love it always when Plucky and Daffy fly, they should do that more often, then they would avoid a lot of trouble like falling anvils or crazy duckhunters!:D

  • I think thats the first time I EVER really see Plucky FLY like and actuall duck. He flapped his arms...er..wings? and flew!

  • @SmileGotham He also does it in "Migrant Mallard".

  • EXCELENT, GRETTINS FROM MEXICO!!!

  • Hey, at 2:30 when Fifi comes in to do her ballet how come when Dizzy, Furball, and Monty are asleep thet cant smell her stink, but Buster Plucky & Hamton can?

  • @BigMatt39

They're underneath her stink's line. Characters only smell it if it hits their nose or something

  • @TravelingCoder Ahh, okay I see

  • I have to agree with ThirdTimeChangedKBA at 2:40 - 2:42 Fifi DOES do a wonderful ballet & DOES dance BEAUTIFULLY

  • Pause at 4:51 The clock has no hands!

  • See? This is what happens when you tell three teenage boys to cart pianos down from high places

  • @janecatwings I agree

  • Plucky's superhero side is Batduck, but what's his second superhero side from 5:01 to 5:16? lmao

  • @Simpsons50187 SuperDuck maybe?

  • @BigMatt39 Oh yeah there's a red S on the front. It also kinda looks like a lightning rod. lol

  • Those three are like the Three Stooges in this cartoon.

  • the eye part 3:28

  • Babs is in this one! She appears at 5:19.

  • ok but she is NOT involved in the actual video now is she?

  • @MRod19925 That's just a cameo appearance

  • This is hilarious LOL

    SEE sharp or BE FLAT!

  • OMG, really really thanks for the uploader!!! I saw this episode when I was 5 but still remember this episode and I was really happy during watching this episode again after 19 years later!!! Really thank you!!!

  • At the Beginnin' Babs said she won't in this cartoon. take a look at 5:26

  • what on earth does this cartoon have to do with Cb and B#???

  • c the flat or b flat!

  • i didnt hear them talk about those notes in this video!!!

  • SEE sharp or BE flat(end)

  • i pick B

  • LOL. when i first read the title, my brain itself read it as "C sharp or B flat" since i'm so used to reading notes. i'm "smart"...

    XD

  • I love Listz. I love Rhapsody Rabbit, and now I love this.

  • 4:17 why did Hamton grab the piano?

    2:55 who's that?

  • 4:17 probably because he thought he was grabbing on to something solid to keep from flying in the opposite direction & forgot it was the piano XD

    2:55 that's pete puma

    (a WHOLE LOTTA LUMPS)

  • Anyone else heard "The Wishing Star" from the movie Wakko's Wish? Did they use this usual music for it? Because I've heard it in a lot of Tiny Toons eps.

"I'm not in this cartoon either."

    XD

  • Heh, I'm amazed that Dizzy, Max and Furrball didn't get a whiff of Fifi's awful smell...though it could very likely be the case that her smell is what knocked them out. XD

  • C flat is the same as B natural

B sharp is the same as C natural

  • Thank you for explaining that!

I just spent 5 minutes staring at my sheet music in confusion upon confronting my first C flat.

I kept thinking it must be a mistake, but Debussy doesn't strike me as one to make a typo.

  • Actually, Lola was created in 1996, a year after TTA was cancelled for good, while Babs I think was created in 1990, maybe a year earlier. There's no possible way they could be replicas. I'll admit, they look similar, but the fact remains.

  • Fun Facts: (1) On the title card of "C Flat or B Sharp" is a Homage to Chuck Jones animated classic "High Note" with the "Drunken Note" that caused Chaos thru out the whole cartoon..

    (2) @ 0:55 Buster look a little bit like Alex Anderson & Jay Ward's Crusader Rabbit who was the world first Animated television program.

& (3) This segment was animated by Startoons animation of Chicago Illinois famous for thier animated P.S.A ads for the American Dental Assocation.

  • Oh man....this makes me laugh every time I see it :D

  • I like the act that this cartoon don't have much dialgue just music, kind of like the Pink Panther

  • The end of the background music...I remember the lyrics to them from Wakko's Wish X3.

  • since buster is a replica of bugs and plucky a replica of daffy then what is babs replica

  • lola bunny

  • lola wasn't made yet, Buster is a replica of the calm bugs, Babs is the crazy bugs.

  • Babs is a cross of all the early Warner Bros. female stars including Honey,(from Bosko the Talking Kid) Cookie( from Buddy) Roxy (Foxy's girlfriend) Miss Kitty (Beans's girlfriend) as well as Petunia Pig & the rarely seen Honey Bunny (Bugs Bunny's first girlfriend).

  • dont for get dot (anamainacks) or how how ever u spell that

  • Dot Warner of "Animainiacs" came a few years later but she's a good mentor too (The five that I mentoned were the first five female stars for the Warner Bros. cartoons even though they played "second banana or a love inyerest" in the cartoons & Honey Bunny was more restricted to the Looney Tunes comic books & the Bugs Bunny comic strip in the late 1950's to the 1970's than the actual cartoons).

  • Buster and Babs are both based on Bugs' personality. Lola Bunny wasn't around until Space Jam in '96

  • 2:40 - 2:42 Fifi does a wonderful ballet. She dances beautifully.

  • yeah and stinks up the whole house (literally)

  • wow that' one resilient piano.

till the end that is =]

  • This song comes from Tom And Jerry In the cat concerto

  • And from "Rhapsody in Rivets" and Bugs Bunny in the "Rhapsody Rabbit". This is Hungarian Rhapsody No2 by Franz Liszt.

  • if only elaborate plans were that simple...

  • this song, isn't it played in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The Ink And Paint Club wwhere Daffy and Donald are playing the piano?

  • Yes, it is :)

  • 3:38 Daffy's reaction there is so pricesless there.

    4:11 Rumproast at 3 o clock.

  • Daffy isn't In this Cartoon.Your talking about Pete or Plucky

  • whats the name of that song?

  • Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-sharp minor by Franz Liszt.

  • thx

  • wow did every here actually know the name the episode or I guess they just saw a cartoon pic.cause I havent seen this in ...12yrs

  • What's the favorite pitch of the one-eyed pianist?

  • Don't know. what?

  • C flat is B and B sharp is C.

  • i know! why not b flat or a sharp? thats a black key that exists on a piano!

  • Sometimes it's necessary to use both B sharp and C flat depending on the key signature. The same would be true for E sharp and F flat. I could go into full detail and giving an example, but I don't think it would fit in a Youtube comment.

But, Bb and A# are the same notes, or Enharmonic equivalents.

  • Because Both Cb and B# Don't exist. it's a trick.

  • C Flat is B-natural, and B-sharp is C-natural.

  • As ray orbet uses to say, Never ever move a piano.

  • Pete Puma reminds me of... Scruffy the janitor. but less cynical

  • Plucky's face at 6:05 is priceless! I love this cartoon.

  • I just bought the first half of the first season, sadly this is on the second half. this is my favorite episode

  • you ought to upload some of those episodes from dvd

  • Pete Puma makes more appearances on Tiny Toons than he ever did on Looney Tunes

  • He only had one Loony Toons apperance if I recall correctly. At least he's got some attention in TTA.

  • I think he made two i don't recallthe other one tho

  • that was a lot of wreckage

  • Just another day at ACME Loo.

  • Hey, Pete Puma's the janitor! lol, he still gets whacked even when he isn't the bad guy XD!

  • franz liszt.... good stuff

  • That Poor Lion XD

  • It's not a lion it's Pete Puma, from the (classic) looney tunes cartoon "Rabbits Kin"

  • Ha ha poor Plucky @ 3:44! XD I loved Tiny Toons when I was little. Hooray for good cartoons! *claps and laughs*

  • i love the part where hamtons suspenders get trapped in the elevator ^^

  • Babs: I'm not in this cartoon

    Translation

    You're on your own sucker

  • thanks for posting this. Now i understand what music was being played when I seen this as a kid :D.

  • tiny is coming to dvd on 2008

  • Always with the Hungarian Rhapsody. It's in, like, every cartoon. Roger Rabbit, Tom & Jerry, Wakko's Wish... It's like a mandatory cartoon... Thing.

  • I like this cartoon because the producers.Did this to show a cartoon with out anybody talking.Fifi comes down the hall dancing and stinking up a storm. Her sent sends the boys runing with the piano in the other direction.I hope these shows come out on dvd soon.

  • I read they're releasing it on DVD later this year.

  • This song was used in Wakko's Wish!

  • this is what cartoons are all about.. . .

    what happened?

  • I agree with you, Octochan. Seems like Sam's gotten rusty.

Finally!!! Some Fifi!!! Thank God, Heavens, Goodness, Tex Avery and Chuck Jones!!!

    Can anyone some Fifi-related episodes?

And does anyone know who we have to write to, in order to ask WB to release Tiny Toons as soon as possible?

  • The first DVD set is supposed to come out sometime this year.

  • The first part with the water made me cringe a little ;) Water damage is one of the worst things that can happen to a piano...

  • wow i remember this episode thanks for posting it again!! thankyou!!

  • man, Yosemite should've known better. He's a classic cartoon character in a sketch that involves a PIANO! they probably teach this in Dropping Stuff on People 101!

  • Hey wait is that snoring I hear behind Fifi?

  • ok waitaminute I just noticed the crowd behind her, I sure that wasn't there before.

  • I think it might need to be tuned now...

  • Awesome :3

  • good job piano movers, leave the piano on the tower. i feel bad for that janitor though.

  • Cb or B# it wnt matter after the abuse the piano went thru!! HAHAHA n e who; music 101 tidbit: theyre one n the same. great cartoon, i wish it was still around

  • jhate tinies but love this song

  • Ah! I remembered this! Everything's coming back to me now...

  • this brings me back

  • wow I've just realised this is the tune from Wakko's Wish when their singing about the wishing star (For anyone who watched animaniacs :D)

  • Yup, the good 'ol 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody; it was used quite often in WB cartoons.

  • At 3:28-29 look at Plucky's expression. Hilarious.

  • hahaha. how did you notice that. that's great.

  • if Sam was like the old Sam he would take out his guns and go ape shit!

  • I think that this was one of the better show made, and it certainly beats anything out there now. I don't recall ever falling in love with a piece of music in quite the same way...

  • I wish the show was still on.

  • ah...classical music, how else would kids be exposed to that? these cartoon creators were geniuses...unlike some of nowadays...

  • maybe you havent notice but disnye still do it

  • I watch disney all the time, and it happens very VERY rarely.

  • in house of mouse thay do it all the time, thay just suck

  • yeah, the only problem is that house of mouse is on way too early in the morning for normal kids to watch...so they're stuck with the stupid things like the Wiggles which teaches them nothing lol.

  • Still makes me laugh all these years later. This show is classic early 90s material.

  • "im not in this cartoon either"--babs lmao i love her~! i love this series...and i especially love the piano playing hungarian rhapsody

  • oh what song is this? ?

  • Out of tune, but who cares?

  • Tiny Toons is so awesome.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up. 8D

  • I miss Fifi.

  • I especialy liked the piano surfing bit and Super Plucky!

  • That's STUUUUUUUUPOR DUCK!!

And this was a nice attempt to recreate the orchestral WB cartoons from the days of yore. I'm guessing the hungarian rhapsody was chosen because it was used in Roger Rabbit. :p
