Old Drag Queen suggests "Eat Less, Exercise More" ....and quit beating yourself up. Christmas on a Cracker! I am sure Nick likes you regardless......figure out why you've developed this image distortion...it's not like your Cristy Alley for god's sake.
continued...It's more than being bored. It's a triumph once you finish. Get back on track. Finish what you started. You already know that it feels amazing one you done. DO IT. BE STRONG. I'm here for the support when you need me.
Not everyone has these amazing "epiphanies" on the cleanse. The purpose is to purge yourself of toxins, of the shit in your liver, and colon and so on... to prevent diseases from STARTING because of the organs gradual deterioration throughout the years. Tim does not have any ANY allergies to foods anymore. Fruit used to make his mouth itch and it doesn't anymore. Because of the cleanse. Think on that. Think of the possibilities that your body can start to be. A new palate.
Chris, ONLY YOU know what's best for yourself. I think you wanted immediate results. And when you visibly didn't see them, or FEEL them right away, you gave away to the slightest temptation. You were already bored. The cleanse doesn't work that way.
Good god boy, google healthy nutrition! The cleanse is crap. YOU ARE STARVING yourself. And your body responds by hoarding whatever you finally give it. Guess how you got all your genes? Your ancestors that didn't starve to death! Your body will detox itself if you eat healthy and exercise. Its really that simple. Exercise more calories than you stuff in your mouth=healthy. But you have to eat to have energy to exercise. Starvation is unhealthy!
I was told by a nutritionist that people who are thin and look 'healthy' aren't necessarily so. They just have great metabolisms. In fact, my nephew is extremely thin naturally. He eats grease three meals a day. When I think about food I gain weight. You just have to work on speeding up your metabolism. You look great though, so you honestly don't need to worry. But I get the whole feeling better about yourself thing. I need that. :)
the whole master cleanse thing is bullshit. Your body uses your liver, kidneys, GI tract and the lungs to detox itself. They made out that the combination of the maple lemons and cayenne pepper is some sort of miracle and its all bullshit. But I had your mindset when i tried it to so if your anything like me your probably ignoring the skeptics. Just look at what the medical professionals have to say though.
I think that the best way to do the detox is probs to not put to much pressure on yaself to do it, plus will power. I managed to do a yr without meat and a yr n half with no chocolate.
Also I wana do the detox but I think it would be really unhealthy for me cuz my BMI is 18 n I only wana do it to cleanse and not to loose weight, so is there anything I could do? I were thinking like doing it but being able to have like brwn pasta cause thats good for ya.
When I was trying to stop smoking the first time I lasted 3 days and was so wound up I could have thrown my husband out the window, so I had a cig said it's too hard and gave up. When I told my doctor he said you should of had the cig then stop again till the next time you want to kill someone and so on, and eventually you will notice the time between cigs gets longer..........
1 cig does not make you a smoker, no more than one lapse on the cleanse makes you a cheat. Look at the bigger picture and don't sweat the small stuff, oh and yeah I am a no smoker now :0) xxxJoolsxxx
After the cleanse, when you start your new nutrition plan/sports or whatever, you can treat yourself once in a while with some snacks/chocolate etc for motivation. You don't need to say "I'll never eat chocolate again", because that never works ;)
But as for the cleanse: it defeats the whole purpose imho ;)
I did the cleanser over a year ago, 11 days or so. The thing is: you have to be commited... If you actually think about "I'm gonna quit and have a big breakfast" then you are just not into the whole thing... Your whole mindset has to be into whatever you are trying to accomplish!!
The body detoxes itself, "cleansing" is just a myth! Real science proves that it is actually bad for you and can harm the vital organs inside you that ACTUALLY cleanse. Not to mention deplete your muscle mass
CHRIS, MY ADVICE IS TO TAKE BABY STEPS AND WORK YOUR WAY UP IN TERMS OF DIET AND EXERCISE. BY DOING THIS YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO STICK TO A ROUTINE YOU CREATE, BY SETTING SMALL GOALS EACH WEEK.
IE: I'LL WALK THOSE EXTRA 2 BLOCKS TODAY BEFORE I GO HOME.
I am a firm advocate of detoxing. I can't advocate the lemonade diet because I am unfamiliar with it, but I can recommend elimination diets because it helped me tremendously in getting to know how my body functioned, what foods I have a sensitivity toward etc...I also recommend Chris watch the documentary FOOD INC. as it will shed great insight into food production today.
No one has still been able to give me science. I watched a TV special that analyzed 5 of these supposed "detox" "cleanses" on 5 people while monitoring them. When the results came back, they found organ damage from malnutrition, depletion in muscle mass and irregular blood work i.e. blood and glucose levels had gone haywire.
This isn't a personal attack, if you can prove these detoxes are good for you with actual facts, then i would even consider doing one. But no one can prove anything
You and your damn science. Chinese Medicine has been around THOUSANDS of years and has helped countless people. Western Medicine has been around for approx. 100 years. Are you aware of how many nutritional courses people in medical school take? The answer, on average is ONE. Did you watch the ads during the TV detox special you watched? I bet it was sponsored by a diet pill company. NO ONE can prove through science how stress effects the body. Does that mean it has no effect?
Yes me with my damn science that created vaccines and X-Rays. Uh, you don't need to be a nutritionist to know that your doing damage to a body, MEDICAL tests can prove that. And I'm pretty sure any licensed nutritionist will tell you that a way to look after yourself is to eat healthy and exercise, not drink some miracle voodoo elixer for 10 days.
Can you name these supposed "toxins" that build up in the colon and liver?
Whatever you decide to do, please don't beat yourself up over it!! You sound really upset and angry at yourself...it's just a cleanse, not like you cheated on your CV and got a job that you don't qualify for and that someone else deserved more than you, or something along those lines... But what do I know, I'm a skinny chick! ;-)
And you know that all of us are dying to know what you ate now, right??
Willpower naturally comes and goes. It's normal to get discouraged. The healthy people you described all have different motives for maintaining their lifestyle, whether or not it's of any health benefit to them. You should find a healthful lifestyle that fits your life, because it will be the easiest to follow. Plan your healthful choices around your life, not the other way around.
Don't feel bad about it- its not like cheating on a test (and who didn't ever cheat on a test at least once in their life???) because this isn't a test- its an experience, and if you felt good in the days you did stick to it than that is all that matters. experience.
you are not the first person to cheat on a diet plan and will definitely not be the last. I to wish I know how to be successful and stay at it. My problem is I normally start when in not depressed especially on the exercise part as it helps me get out all the extra energy and drive I have, and I eat well. Then I get depressed I start to eat crappy again and stop exercising. so in the long run I lose but its lose put some back on take it off plus some repeat. I really do need to start again.
Suck it up and move on. Perfectionism is a set-up - strive for 100%, but don't allow a mistake to become so overwhelming that it defeats your initial goal.
Okay...deep breaths, Chris. :) As someone who is diabetic, I have my own "cheat days." It's not days when I go hog wild crazy and eat tons of bad stuff, but I give myself a little bit of my cravings it helps quell them and keep my metabolism a little on edge so it doesn't get into a lull. There are master cleanse diets that do include eating raw fruit and veggies. All I have to say is that one day of cheating isn't going to kill you. It's how you respond to it in a healthy manner.
Well, to continue with your math exam analogy: do you absolutely feel the need to score A+? Don't get me wrong, I believe it is primordial to set yourself goals. However, if you give yourself a treat (no pun intended) once during a 10 days phase, it is still a pretty good score in my book. Continue with the program, I know you can but please do not torture yourself if you "cheat" once in a while!!
By the way, I believe that if you are to "cheat" whilst on a diet, choose something which you enjoy very, very much. For example, even if I am on a diet right now, I purposefully ate duck confit with patates salardaises this weekend and trust me, the rasberry sauce had no traces of guilt whatsoever. It just recharged my batteries to keep going forward with this diet!
Cheating on a diet now and then seems OK, I think b/c you're incorporating the change into your everyday life, so you have to find a balance. I guess I'm harder on myself in this instance b/c a cleanse is pretty strict and straightfwd: juices only while your system flushes out. Thanks for your POV, tho!
oh Chris, sucks that you cheated... as for what skinny "healthy" people know...hmmm, I would probably say it's a matter of how often a person thinks of food and how they feel about it and coming to an understanding of what your body "needs" as opposed to what your mind craves. you may want ice cream after dinner every time, but does your body need it? probably not. that's not to say you shouldn't treat yourself every now and then. think of "cheating" as a treat instead of ponishment.
It's not the Master Cleanse--it's your cleanse. You know what's best for you. In my 20 years I've found things that work for me and that don't. I'm still learning, but I certainly know what paths to take when doing certain things. Exercise is always healthy, as is a proper diet. Don't rely too much on this cleanse. Put your own stink on it
