heres a theory when his wife drownd when he went into the water to save her the darkness to control but since he was the writer he was able to break free from the control but while he was it forced him to write the novel but he broke free from control so the last page wasnt created and when he was trying to get away he was mentaly exahusted and pased out when he got into the crash
