  • @domdangelo you fit the description of john mayer

  • Yeaaaa!

  • 4:28 to 4:38..bet you never heard an octavia in texas flood....just guitarist food for thought?

  • @THEBIGKOSTRINSKY Been playing since I was 15 years old, I'm 34 now, thought I heard it all but he shocked me for that 10 seconds. Love the Octavia when he used it. There are some unreleased Austin City Limits videos floating around and he beats the hell out of it in Voodoo Chile. The GREATEST ever...hands down.

  • @domdangelo ....I've been making mixes of solos where is uses the octavia...i love everything that SRV played but theres something about when he played with it that just sends goosebumps up my spine...every single dam time...theres something spiritual about it i think...or at least thats how it feels...truly inspirational ...mabye more than anything else ive ever heard...those ten seconds i could hear over n over again that octavia screamin piercing my soul one bent note at a time

  • I felt emotion in this very much, right from his soul..........

  • And DEFIANTLY Part 3:21 he uses his pickup switch like crazy!! Watch it SRV fans!

  • you can always tell that if the guitar is Charley if the guitar doesnt have a whammy bar and only one tone knob. and i like how he uses his gitar switch alot to change the sound of the guitar, watch at 3:13

  • @poocrumble: or, you know, when it's white and has lipstick pickups :D

  • @seicheberlin is that suppose to be funny, its kinda not..

  • @poocrumble well is your advice supposed to be helpful? it's kinda not... I was just hinting at the fact that there are differences to his other guitars that are easier to spot for the beginner. Cheers!

  • @seicheberlin hey man, idk whgat ur problem is, i like srv and admire his work and i dont see why your givin me shit, come on man ease up.....

  • A loving Happy Birthday goin' out to Stevie on this day.

    A beautiful and special man.

    ~miss you~

    Peace

  • When Stevie past we not only lost him but almost every blues artist he had ever listened to.All of his influences showed through his music.Hendrix,Muddy,Albert, you name it he had it.His fingers transported us back in time. He never ripped any one of them off.He only show us what they had to offer so we too could come to love there music also. The blues needed this man.Without him we might have never got to remember the other greats Thank you Stevie

  • forget the audio, thanks for posting this!!!! SRV in any audio is should be good enough!

  • 4:27 4:39 melt my soul

  • thanks for posting -great stuff -wish it was available on DVD -will just have to be satisfied with the ACL one - love you Stevie♥

  • don't forget the El MoCamabo DVD.

  • One word, virtuosity.

  • Some here are complaining about the audio and I'm licking up every crumb that falls from the master. He and that guitar are fused together and foating in thier own balloon up UP and GONE MAN!!

  • is it a Charvel strat?

  • maybe....NO.1 in repair...I read for a long time ago....No,1 was repair....and after some stages,"Red" neck set on No,1 and the neck was broken by Lights at the stage.

So, maybe "the some stages" stevie may use the other Charlie or Red or so.

Or just his mood was "Charlie"....

I think it's possible both of them.

  • Red's neck was never on #1, Red's neck was a lefty, during the end, Stevie took the neck off of Scotch and put it on #1, then took the neck off Red and put it on Scotch. And it's "Charley" not Charlie.

  • No, it's Charley. If you pause it at 1:22 you can see the headstock with the name.

  • Yeah, or if you just look at it.

  • Nope. Just do a quick google.

  • Clean and sober and at his best. Saw him on this tour in Boise, Idaho and I'll never forget it. He blew the roof off the place. Best show I'll ever see. Period.

  • I have been trying to understand why this has only 2000-odd views, then I see that the only tag on this video is 'blues'!

  • 3:15 - 3:19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Really like this clip of texas flood. The audio could be better, but hey it's just a privilege to even hear it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Let's face it, this man was beyond talented, and was truly in the "gifted" category.

  • i totally agree and i would say he and only a few other fantastic musicians are in that catagorie and none of the musicians are new either probably the only other one that could even compete with stevie on guitar is jimi and thats saying something

  • @rexanater

Amen, he truly was his own judge-n-jury when it came to the guitar, it was just an extension of his life and soul

  • Most beautifull guitar I have ever seen in my life...

  • This is an electric version! Stevie was on it while playing Charley here. It's amazing what he could do. R.I.P. Stevie!!!!!

  • Like always its a magic to see Stevie perform.

  • Wow

  • amazing

  • put the strap back on behind his back while playing. Wow.

  • great version
