Well the only people that could NOT have more than 2 wives in the early Church were Bishops. So, then perhaps we should allow folks to marry more than one. This is not Mass, this is a beautifully done concert. If you like, take a look at the Documents of Vatican ll on the Liturgy, the SANCTUARY which is the holy of holies is reserved for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Even Vatican ll agrees. I will leave it at that. This is beautiful no one said it was not.

I'm pretty sure back in the medieval times the choir was in the exact same spot chanting the words. The very early days of the church are much more pure than these days, and if they could sing in that spot in the early days, there is no reason to think otherwise.

Well, the music is beautiful, but here again, we take the Sanctuary and make it a stage. This is an abuse of the Holy of Holies. But, Vatican 2 allows all this madness. Again, the music is absolutely beautiful. Too bad.

@robertiacomacci Madness? What about the psalms? Angels sang the very birth of Christ, why can't we sing of His Glorious Death and all our other beliefs?

I don't agree with a stage, but even Jesus himself spoke in parables. Anything that can aid our reflection and understanding of God's word, as well as spread it, should be fully embraced - in the right setting.

Taking a moment to proclaim - and go so far as sing aloud - your basic beliefs before witnessing that Sacrifice is no travesty.

I never said anything to support your ridiculous comments about not taking a moment to proclaim. The sanctuary of a Church is not a stage. There are other places in the Church this can be done to celebrate the life of Jesus. People just don't like to discuss things without being offended by the actual statement.

@robertiacomacci You're mistaken. I did read your post. I'm saying: I think you're wrong. Jesus's Sacrifice is a gift, one that should be celebrated.

I agree that Vatican 2 is very misguided, and I agree an electrical guitar is irreverent. But, Gregorian chant is about the words and these words are our beliefs. That said, I would like to sing them before I take part in our highest Sacrament. I am not offended by your concern, but by your contempt - which you have now shown twice.

It is the place for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I did not in any way shape or fashion take away from the beauty of the music, nor did I judge the choir. The priest of the Church KNOWS better. I can site Canon Law to you, or, you can look it up yourself. Contempt of what may I ask?

@robertiacomacci No need for a scripture battle. I understand you think a choir should not be allowed during Mass. But, they are singing prayers of Mass, not of other things - so I think this should be allowed. The Holy of Holies is within the Tabernacle, and is not defiled.

You showed contempt for any who disagree. Vatican 2 was appointed just as those before them. If you can argue their decision, they also have the right (if not more so) to argue in favor of it. I will leave it at that.
