Well Calgary won this game, but ya the Wings took em out in the series. I gotta give Detroit credit, theyve managed to stay on top of the West since 1993, amazing(too bad they can't even sell out their own building in the playoffs though)
Fair enough, and I figured Detroit's tough economic situation played a factor. But then when you see that the Pistons sold out every game - both regular season and playoffs - and the Tigers and Lions are playing to capacity crowds most nights, it makes you wonder. I dont know enough about Detroit's economic sitchy to comment more on it, but I just found that strange.
Ok fair enough, thats good to hear actually. For awhile there I thought Detroit was starting to not care about hockey so much anymore. Sports Illustrated even talked about how they need to find another Hockeytown USA(which they picked as Minny) due to all the empty seats at the Joe recently. You should write to em and tell em whats up
whoever posted this video is there anyway you can repost a longer version of it, as soon as it gets good you ended the video

I think they said that last season the tickets for the Nosebleeders against the rafters in the Joe were selling for $70.
if the Pistons charged that, they'd be just as empty, if not more so. and Comerica Park is nowhere near that high.

For all the fans who think that St. Paul is the new "hockeytown":
1. Fuck Sports Illustrated. they only want to cover hockey when Football's over, and basketball's slow.
2. Hockeytown is TRADEMARKED and COPYRIGHTED by the Detroit Red Wings.
3. It was only a Marketing ploy which stuck.

$70 is nothing compared to what you'd be paying for Flames tickets.

Simply put: I wouldn't take tickets to a Flames game unless they're playing detroit.
