  • Hey my chainsaw once just cut out while working, so i got a new spark plug, it then ran again, done an hours work then it cut out again. The new spark plug still sparks.....i cleaned out the carb like in your other videos, i tried putting fuel in the spark plug hole to see if it will start. nothing is happening...whats going on??? everything seems to be working but just won't start??

  • @tomtubeboob check the coil to see if it got loose

  • Please do a video about the MS180c choke and throttle linkage.

  • Thanks for the reply - I Know it will be a great help to lots of us "Shade tree Mechs" Just hate spending the money and all the time it takes...

BTW - what are your thoughts on Walbro wt-215 vs stock Stihl carb?

  • posted this on another of your videos = should have posted it here - since the Carbs on these 180 can be an issue - how about a video on how to replace the carb. can save us money and since most shops are WAY backed up... Thanks for great video's

  • @firefighterretired if i get time i will make a vid

  • I thoght that stihl used ngk spark plugs.

  • @bluebowtie01 you can use ngk bpmr7a also

  • Hi, donyboy73. Often my Husqvarna 235 chainsaw won't start in cold weather (because they dilute the gas with ethanol here). But after watching this video, I just remove the cover, remove the spark plug, spray some starter fluid into the cylinder, reinstall the spark plug, and -- presto ! -- it starts right up. MANY thanks for your videos !!

  • @KevinByrne2 sometimes turning out the L screw 1/8" of a turn can make easier starting

  • @donyboy73 -- I finally found the courage to adjust my chainsaw's carburetor, as you suggested. The carburetor's settings needed substantial adjustment. Also, I learned that I should operate the saw with the choke more open. Now the saw starts easily (no need for starter fluid). Once again, MANY thanks !!!

  • very good

  • Thanks for posting this, so much clearer than the Stihl documentation.

  • Thanks for your videos! Very usefull and detailed!

I will use your tips :)

    Thank you mate

  • i agree i can do this at home instead of bringing it to a shop

  • I like videos like these 5/5 !!!

  • thanks

  • @donyboy73 ---Hi ! just in case you're taking questions...I had a devil of a time starting my MS250 today. I had not used it in 6 weeks. Watched your video and checked the air filter and spark plug, all was OK. After about an hour of pulling it finally started. I was wondering if the process of turning the 250 on its side to refuel and top off the chain oil can cause the carb to flood.
