American dirt horses are the best in the world, but our turf horses are abysmal. Royal Ascot has no equal in the US and apparently never will. I even think the BC turf races should be held at Ascot to make for a truly international event, and one which might attract the best grass horses in the world.

He retired this year the winner of $4,535,438... which is about $USD5m. He was a phenomenal horse that won 4 Interdominion finals... which is like winning 4 Arc's. So, if you are in fact a harness racing fan, it was hardly a waste of your time.

@funshipM174 Fortunately, ANZ harness racing has evolved along different lines than in the US. The emphasis on ANZ horses is racing over 1 1/2m in cups races. There is less emphasis on mile races & that's all you get in the states. Also, we don't have a hand-up rule like you do in the US. This has a huge impact on mile times because you can push forward in the 2nd qtr & not run the risk of being hung out in the breeze. I find US harness racing predictable & boring. I'm not being abrasive.. con't

Foreign horses will dominate the BCC races. The only chance you have is the dirt (aka car-park) races. Balleydoyle sent Cape Blanco to the states because the pickings are so easy. He's not even in the top 20 in the IFHA ratings but is lengths better than your best middle distance horses. This is the reality mate.

RIBOT was no more than a second level horse at best. BTW, how many many Breeders cup classic races have the Italian horse won?? The answer is a big FAT ZERO! And that is ALL horses worldwide come to in the U.S..Italy has not had ONE starter in a breeders cup race!

The 2 most important and challenging races in the world take place in Paris and not in USA. "Arc de Triomphe" (gallop), "Grand Prix d 'Amerique" (trot). Everyone knows this. We have the world's best jockeys and horses. We do not make films about "Seabiscuit, " we make real facts. Even Mack Lobell wouldn't have been able to get near him. There's this big place outside of America called... the rest of the world. I wonder how many of the Breeder's Cup races your horses will win this year? My guess is, as many as the Europeans, Australians and Asians want you to.

Do you have any idea what it takes to get a horse from nearly anywhere else in the world to race in a Breeders Cup? There has ever been an American horse who won a Cox Plate. So would we also say that ANZ horses are more superior? And you can take all of the dirt races out of the equation. No one in the right...

@funshipM174 mind would subject their horses to dirt racing given the relative injury rates btw dirt and turf. That is why antiinflammatory painkillers & other drugs (eg Lasix) have been propping up the US racing industry for years - & it's starting to show. Another reason why very few US horses travel - they'd be swabbed out more often than not. You'll note that Irish horses have a better win percentage than your locals do. On their own turf! So, what point have you made?

@funshipM174 The bottom line is, in fact, US horse racing is in a terrible state. Years of lax drug laws & mis-management means that US horses can rarely compete on the world stage. Foreign horses will dominate the BCC races. The only chance you have is the dirt (aka car-park) races. Balleydoyle sent Cape Blanco to the states because the pickings are so easy. He's not even in the top 20 in the IFHA ratings but is lengths better than your best middle distance horses. This is the reality mate.

No its not, it just won the interdoms and all that because all our kiwi horses aren't there, they were all in this other race after it, the auckland cup I think. Blacks a fake isnt that good, Elsu was way better then that thing and he bet him several times.
