Lol that's not even the right engine or tranny for the Explorer. Oh and also mine is at 162,000 miles and still shifts perfect. The 5r55e breaks down because people drive like idiots and don't think that it's an SUV not a sports car.
I want my money back.........I used 2 bottles in my navigator and it was the same as it ever was...still slipping.......lucas made no difference at all......may as well had used water...coat me over 35 bucks for those 2 bottles.......do you know how many fifths of gin i could have bought wth that???? i want my money back
@boojack46 If an internal part is broken or the frictions are completely worn, Lucas will not fix the problem. It says that right on the side of the bottle. A common problem with the 4R100 which is the tranny in that Navigator is a broken spring for the one of the bands...
About 10 years ago I bought a junkyard T18 for my 84 F250 4x4 diesel, got it all together and it was stuck in 1st gear driving up and down the street. Thought I would have to remove it, junkyard said try Lucas first. About 200feet down the driveway and POP! out of gear and in a couple of minutes shifted like a new tranny. I tell every one to use this stuff, Awesome.
question: I have a 2005 mercury sable with a 6 cyl, auto transmission. The problem I am having is that once the engine is warmed up & the rpms fall to a normal driving level..........when the car is idle, not moving and I put it into drive from park or neutral it is slow to go into drive. The car seems to be shifting fine when driving it. It's just when I am stopped and drop it into drive from park or neutral. Will this lucas stuff work for this kind of problem?
I bought this product this morning...later on the day,i have been told that this product caused the o-rings to increase in size by %300...which makes them soft and fragile... as soon as i heard this, i returned the product...no lie!!!
@uriel4377 - yes it is recommended you either drain 24oz of fluid before adding the transmission fix, or you can mix it with new trans fluid and do a new oil change.
My Acura Legend was slipping out of 4th on the highway after about 5 miles. Did it twice on consecutive drives. Dealer and independent mechanic said the tranny is likely shot. $2200 to replace/rebuild
Put this in. Haven't had a problem since. It WORKS!
the shit dose work i had a 95 ranger same tranny like in the explorer and i put a full bottle in there and never had prom. agin beat the shit out of it and have kid so had to get another car and put it in this one to
IDK n e thing bout transmissions. 2003 honda element.manuel. 130k miles on it. never had a trany fluid change. wanst driven hard ever. Should i flush it or will that make it start to slip due to crud geting knocked loose? PLEASE HELP ME I NEED IT CHANGED BUT am seriously scared i dont know much about transmissions. please
@MrWillydoit wow thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard a rebuild kit is like a couple hundred bucks why wouldnt u replace everything while u have it apart the only company I know of that only replaces components that are broken on parts is autozone and thats why their parts are shit
i used half a can in my Pontiac Sunfire that was slipping badly ... and right after it shifted like the day i drove it off the lot new. AWESOME product ... it's basically magic in a bottle ! saved me from a costly transmission repair. could not be happier.
It work on my 96 mercury villager there was a Transmission leak ,i use one bottle of LucasOil and its been a few years and no leaking at all.Good stuff.
@jcarney112 The trans holds 12qt, all in all. You can only use ATF+4 by Mopar for the Ultradrive, not any other aftermarket product. I added a half bottle of the trans fix, valves got unstuck, it works in my case!
I have a slipping problem on my Impala 2000 LS, added this Lucas bottle with new oil, and the problem still exists, so i'm not sure why this happens, it drives like a dream when cold, as soon as hits temperature in the middle, the tranny slips when accelerating from stop.
@windsurf7772 Your wrong on that comment, im living proof that it works. my 2000 chevy s10 would shift hard. I put lucas in, then it dont shift hard anymore. RESULT: IT WORKS!! DO THE MATH.
i used it in my 200,000 mile auto that was shifting very hard and would slip between 1st and second befor grabing second and after adding lucas the issues have gone away shifts amazing and no more 1st to second slipthe transmission currently has 238,000 miles and is still working like the day i added the lucas
@sirtokesalot47 yeah thats awesome, i just added a bottle of that stuff to my chevy s10. It only shifts hard from first to second when i get off the highway. Basically only when i go a high speed for a long time then stop n go again is when it shifts hard. It seems to shift smoother, and it says it takes 3000 miles to take effect. But 'service engine soon' light went off, so thats good! The bottle also says to change every 30,000 miles.
this product might work but it's not the best on the market. Infact I don't use it because it a bad bandaid. That won't last at all especially when it changes the fluid to a goo type substance..
@WolfTribe1019 That "goo" type substance, is the whole reason it works. Its tranny fluid that actually has some viscosity. Its a binder between all the clutch's and bands in a transmission, the parts that are subject to the most wear. Thats how it stops "slipping". At the same time, it has a very high degree of lubricity. Its extremely slippery. And that is how it frees sticking valves and other small parts, providing more fluid like operation of the transmission. Viscosity and lubricity are...
@WolfTribe1019 ...what make it so effective. The thickness of the fluid binds to all the moving parts, and superb lubrication keeps everything flowing. I use this in transmissions both old and new. It keeps new parts new, and keeps old parts alive. That said, it will not turn water into wine. An extremely worn transmission will still have to be rebuilt.
my 2004 maxima shifts into 1st and 2nd real hard so i took it too a mechanic and he said i needed another transmission so then i took it to the dealer and found out i had cracked engine mounts and transmission mounts so they fixed those and flushed my transmission and put solvents in it now the transmission runs like new and the car seems quicker and more powerful, nissans are notorius for transmission problems but its usually not a costly fix, mechanics are just out for money
ok tell me why my 01 lumina starts to whine at the tranny after you been driving for a while then it shifts hard after it starts to whine but it dose not slip and shifts like new untill it starts making noise
when using this product (It works) I would add 1 Ot bottle per 5 Ot (stated cause there more in the inside) Tranny cap. BUT understand that you need to ease off accelleration for about 3 weeks (basiclly drive easy to none at all, no steep hills, stop & go or that kind of driving, ideally start the engine every 2 or 3 days & crawl on the flat terrain under 25 MPH, then like magic 3-4 weeks experience like new tranny! (my setup 1992 Dodge B350 van with 250K original tranny/engine, slipped 192k
out of 20,000+ bottles sold last year we are sorry it did not work in your vehicle, unfortunately we have never had a comment or any other problems with this product.
You have never had a problem ever with this product or a negative comment ? Give me a break this crap along with your oil stabilizer are horrible products that you as a irresponsible company peddle to a unsuspecting public. If your products were so good all automobile manufacturers would endorse this and other Lucas Oil products for their vehicles. Put this into a Chrysler Transmission that calls for ATF+4 and see what happens or a Honda with ATF Z-1 . Definition of "Snake Oil"
oh yeah lol i guess i was just being cheap but yeah i bet my oil is really fucked up my car hardshifts from 1st to 2nd and some times doesnt shift at all
You reveal how unfamiliar you are with the workings of a transmission when you post comments like you have here. When a transmission is already worn, changing the fluid will only speed the failure process.
My advice: Post comments on topics that you actually know something about and judging by the mindless things on your channel, that is not much. Leave the critical thinking to those who are equipped to do so.

I just ordered one bottle, i got one important question...
My car is a 92´ Dodge Spirit with the common A604 4 speed tranny.
How much should be added?
It shifts a little bit roughly and the solenoid valves sometimes work a little bit too slow -> downshift problems.
So how much should be addes?
Thanks!
