New Camera , What Camera Do You Use To Make Videos On Here? Unboxing Canon Powershot Sd780 IS

I have a Canon PowerShot SD960 IS and I have used it to for a couple HD videos I made. I had the SD780 but I had to return it for reasons of more advanced features that I wanted.

I had just recently bought this camera after doing some research on the Canon camera's and it's awesome! It's definitely a lot better with picture quality thank my Cybershot shot. The video options are limited, but I like that I can actually zoom in and out while it's recording, unlike my Cybershot where I had to adjust the settings before hand and then record (pain in my a**)

I agree the video quality, picture quality, price make this great camera! My only issue thus far is video editing, not much software edits the HD video format, windows movie maker which I used to edit my videos from my old camera doesnt work with the HD video. What do you use if you do use video editing software?

I was wondering, have you or anybody else used a Sandisk Extreme 3 Memory Card, it has 30 MBS, which is suppose to be great for video quality. I would think a regular memory card would not do this camera just. I cannot imagine this camera without a great memory card

interesting because i bought the canon 790is myself about a month and a half ago...the new 900's don't seem to compare favorable to the 780/790/880's...

Yeah Ive heard that. I do have a slight issue with it though, I dont have a mac and all the videos upload as quicktime so I can't use my windows movie maker to edit them. The only editing software Im aware that edits quicktime is imovie and Im so not buying that and changing to leopard. The other option is a converter which again I dont wanna shell out more dough for that. My sd630 uploaded in avi format, not sure if it's the HD that is the reason for being in quicktime now.

Great deal! Insignia is one of the non big name brand's right? I actually saw some of their flat screeen tv's for pretty cheap and thought about getting one but havent heard anything about them as a brand really.

I'm using an I don't know Kodak digital camera that is as big as a brick and 5 years old, and I can't persuade myself to buy a new one cos my mum bought me the brick for my graduation :)

Looks nice man, well at the moment all I have is a cheap Logitech quickcam that I use for Skype. I did however make my first youtube video so that was fun. Only 57 secs though! I look forward to seeing a vid with your new camera it may be something I should invest in perhaps!

Thanks! So far its really nice! Im impressed with it. I like Silver, it was either between Silver or Gold for me, both were online only , my last camera was Silver so I guess I just went with comfort and being used to that color. Id definitely recommend this camera so far.

I use my Canon powershot sd870 IS. I have a Samsung Mini DVD recorder but I rend to use the Canon more. I pretty much bought the Samsung just to film the fireworks this year

It might be all I get this year especially after i keep dipping into the next fireworks trip dough. The cards I got coming are well worth it. I want to show this one off but it would ruin the mailday when it does come in .
