when you're describing the shear strain, you say that : "A" is the cross-sectional area of the rod.. isn't A supposed to be twice of that because it's attached on both sides?
No, it isn't. For a comparison, thing about axial strain on a cylinder. A compressive force would be acting on both ends of the cylinder, but it would only be counted once. Similarly, you only count the cross-sectional area once in your computations for shear stress.
For screen recording I use either Hypercam2 or Camtasia Studios 7
For graphics I use Paint in most videos, Photoshop CS5 in some others
In this video and most of my early ones, I am writing/drawing just with my mouse. Later, I use a Bamboo Pen and Touch Tablet. Their tablets are great and inexpesive; you can find them at any Best Buy (just be careful you get the right kind for your needs).
Very Helpful. I suggest you make an outline of what you plan to say to better organize your video.

Wow... this guy is REALLY struggling... is this a T.A.'s video? He sounds confused about his own material...

The video did help my understanding of stresses, strains and elasticity. but your lack of examples made me laugh. Otherwise good video :)
