guys i need help, what was the name of the gundam series that one needed magic to be hable to use the gundam? it was a special where they inly released 1 episode a month. if n e 1 knows the name plz tell me!!! ty i cant seem to find it anywhere
@OhGodNo666 From Wikipedia: "a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response"
There's also the problem of how much you can fit in one scene, Minosky jamming reduced engagement range to visual range but with 18m tall robot it don't leave much room to show object of very different scale at very different distance.
MS IGLOO actually did a excellent job, remember that non-CG animation usually cheat with proportion while CG can't.
For most of those problem I would say "lack of time"
example with spaceships : If you don't want them to look immobile and keep the dynamic introduction short you need to exaggerate their speeds.
For the Dropship : Alway excused this as "secret test of Minovsky craft"
Zaku Dodging : It's coherent. If they couldn't pull out move like that they wouldn't be able to jump or even run. We always downplay the pilot's G anyway.
OPeration Brittania; the first aggression against the EFF, the original plan was to drop a colony ( capacity of 20 million inhabitants, stated by Oliver May in the First MS IGLOO Ova, but Monique Cadillac did'nt answered him what happened to the people living in the colony) in the EFF Headquarters, Jaburo, located in the Amazonas. Once Earth gravity pulled the colony there was no way to stop it, so EFF space fleet shelled for five days this colony to at least change----
@Ultramarpdfsarg1 ---- its course, and was achieved in the last hours, but the new course was Australia, in since it was in the last hours there wasn't time to evacuate the civilians in the new drop location. 28 million people died in an instant, and this drop changed Earth's weather for ever.
@Ultramarpdfsarg1 Because by this time, all militaries fall under the Earth Federation. the USA isn't even known as the USA anymore. It is just North America. And Australia's Military is quite impressive. I have worked on the ground with Aussies. They are my favorite over even the Brits.
@wikikomoto That is the short version haha. Operation British was to drop a colony on Jaburo in South America. In near earth orbit Federation forces were able to break up the colony, but it was to close to earth to stop completely. As such, the largest chunk hit Sydney.
Well if the Zaku's couldn't move erratically then what the fuck is the point of them having legs? They clearly don't store ammo, which means the legs are simply for show. Note: MSN-02 Zeong
@princeroy The creators explained that Mobile Suits have legs so that they can utilize the AMBAC system. AMBAC is using appendages to shit your center of gravity in order to turn in a Zero-G environment, just like real astronauts do. Where space fighters had to use thrusters to turn the MS only need to move their arms and legs. They had actual feet so that they could transition to colony fighting if need be.
even though i was never a huge zeon fan still gotta admit this was bad ass. though after what went on with the titans i kinda lost faith in the feddies too >~>.
@Rotard12a Heaven forbid in a universe of giant robots piloted by humans in which lasers and beam sabres exist they don't follow the laws of real life.
@GrizzlyKrunkScreamer UC Gundam is animated science fiction. It's not a universe, it's a story in our solar system in a couple hundred years that makes hypothetical assumptions about evolution of current technologies as well as people. PHYSICS exist there, and the director/animators of this clip ignored that obvious canon.
Do not confuse this with "fantasy", like the forever-land of eternal bliss (watched over by an invisible scooby doo monster named god) that you call heaven.
@harlequingirl14 What do you mean "I never related"?. I replied to a message by grizzlykrunkwhatever. You are replying with the wrong account, Mr. HarleQuinGirl.
But if you insist, Captain Multi-Account, I will say "'heaven' forbid" that fan of a fan of a sci fi story should get upset when the fundamental basis of a story is shoved aside so that some CG graduate can exercise his skills in key framing.
@Rotard12a i agree with all of that except for the samalis and wappa. one, samalis is actually being displayed realstically for the first time in MS IGLOO, in space there is no gravity, thus the thrust alone makes the ship able to move similarly to a tank on earth, not a battleship. 2, the wappa. with that much downward thrust the thing is flying on a bed of air, it would make sense that its moving like that. but yeah, the HLV being like a UFO is just stupid and really sticks out.
@wikikomoto I guess my problem with the wappa is more that it looks silly than it isn't realistic, so I retract that :P
The Salamis, however, is brushing aside all three of Newton's laws of motion. Keep in mind that gravity, in the sense we are referring to it, is a force. Inertia is a property of mass, and the absence of gravity does not make an object's inertia easier to overcome. I don't want to stat drawing force diagrams, so please take my word for it :)
@wikikomoto ever heard of something called momentum or inertia? you know, something that is based on the mass of the object and has nothing to do with gravity?
@wikikomoto no gravity doesn't change the fact that it has Mass, and moving at the speeds it does and then suddenly changing direction would cause the ship to tear completely apart.
@uokel apparently quite a few people. It doesn't really matter but I guess us nerds want our sci-fi robot shows to be as realistic as sci-fi robot shows can be lol
@QuantaFreak137 because it shows zeon using tactics much like the nazis, it also shows the soldiers which have simmilar uniforms and use WW2 german weapons such as the MG-42, luger and MP-40 amung other such reasons
@wikikomoto Well, they are not excalty WW2 German Weapons but they their names are very similar. The Luger like pistol is the P-62. The Mp -40 like gun is the Mp-71. The Mg-34 like Machine Gun is the Mg- 72. There awards such the Zeon Iron Cross and the Zeonic Victoria Cross. Lol. They are so damn close to copywrite, lol.
zeon was basically based on nazis, ofcourse in this case, THEY are the jews and the feddies are the nazis
aside from the uniform, char himself is basically the red baron, where as amuro is billy Bishop, and even the zaku series are made to look like german soldiers, where as the feddies were made to some how look like the allied forces
@JimexJimex all depends where it hits, a single round to the battery, magazine, engines or ractor will send the thing down in a firery blaze. also, just watching MS IGLOO yesterday, most ships did not go down in one hit, but it was clearly stated in the original series that a megellan class's main guns will most likely destroy a musai in one round
@JimexJimex One of the central points of the Universal Century storylines is that there is no armor that will protect a vehicle from a mega-particle beam weapon. (You need an I-field or anti-beam coating for that.) So yes, a single shot from a beam weapon in the wrong place, and it's game over, even for a cruiser.
wow!!!! 1080p!!! thats what i call an HD!! and those zeon more like the nazi germany... the gun looks like the luger p08@walther and the machinegun looks like the MG42 drum fed.... plus the helmet looks like the one that the wermacht wear during WWII..
hmmm to say char toys around with anybody is an understatement. Char is an ace who became quite frustrated with the gundam when he couldn't take it out legit and even admitted to a surprised garma that his reputation may be on the line after his and amuros intitial encounter. amuro never did any better against chars zaku only seemingly able to hold his own at best with the gundams one of a kind advanced learning computer until he progressively evolves throughout the series
@JimexJimex There is a lot of realism in this clip, but the thing that jumps out at me is at 0:38 or so when the drop capsule comes in and starts darting around like its a hummingbird. That's not realistic at all, and it's that kind of unrealistic treatment that makes me dislike MS IGLOO immensely. Regardless, the CG is still fun to watch.
@GreatWagersOfAnime i must agree, i dont have a clue what they were trying to do there, thats not how an HLV works, the whole death god thing is a put off aswel, not to mention the scene where you can see all the explosions of a battle on earth despite being in space... but i feel its high points far outwigh alot of this
I thought that kind of darting speed will give everybody in that green HLV a concussion, but hey perhaps no one is inside, it can be a equipment-only HLV!
Check out the HLV that decelerate using parachutes after 0:46. Those might carry the personnels and the immediately deployed forces.
You've GOT to make up your own explanation for sci-fi shows to get the most enjoyment out of it. Agree? =]
@JimexJimex I would agree if MS IGLOO was the first Gundam ever made. As it stands, though, it is trying to fit into an already-established universe, and throwing out half of what we know about that universe in so doing. I only complain about the HLV because part of that establishment was the fact that Gundam tries to be "realistic" and this flies in the face of that. Especially since we're expected to believe that Zeon's LANDING CRAFT can outperform its front-line mobile suits.
From an artistic point of view, I think the animators are making the HLV's movements to imitate that of a UFO's. This invokes the feeling of an alien invasion, but ironically the aliens being spacenoids, one of our kind. This reflects how different and the same that Earth people and spacenoids are at the same time.
Though in technical terms, these things look absurd in the UC universe.
@spiderlok as for looking absurd, the HLV is one of the more realistic designs of the on year war, its simply a vehicle designed for reentry into the earths atmosphere, based off the early designs of reentry capsules in the early 60s leading up to apallo, and even simmilar to the ones used in ICBMs today

@BlackAce1229 If they do mass produce gundam than they won't be fun. it will be easy victory, and there no point watching it than if they win so easy.
@swordimpulse07 well to be fair, those were mass produced gundams, the actuall RX-78 took out 2 zakus with next to no effort by the pilot in the first episode of 0079, amuro didnt even know how to make the damn thing stand up
Indeed, the RX-78 Gundam's computer programs made it easy for Amuro to pilot right out of the gate; and the data gathered from its computer was later used to program the Federation's other mobile suits, making them faster and stronger -- for example, the GMs sent against Axis in the "Char's Deleted Affair" manga.
@wikikomoto To also be fair don't forget 0080 where a Zaku II Kai took out the RX-78NT which was an upgraded Gundam meant for Amuro. The RX-78 is definitely stronger than the average zaku of 0079 cause they were built before mobile suits existed and the pilots had no experience battling enemy mobile suits. If Char had fought to the death when he first battled Amuro he would of destroyed the Gundam with his Zaku because Amuro was out of beam energy but Char played it safe not knowing its limits.
@TekkaSage not to mention he did it with just a heat hawk and no firearm, also keep in mind that the pilot of the zaku II FZ was a n00b and had never even gotten a kill beforehand
@wikikomoto UC is nice cause the Gundams tend not to be god-like. Sure, they are strong and elite in nature of design but with the right pilot and tactics can be over come even by the grunts if there isn't a great pilot using the Gundam. At times even that doesn't help but that's what makes it more realistic and exciting.
I feel sad an nostalgic watching this. Zeon should have won, not necessarily the Zabi's. But us spacenoids need our Independence from those tied to gravity. Seig Zeon!!!!
@Ranalcus well thats different, thats mostly just when america is involved, like viet nam, when they were clearly in the wrong, or the war right now... but in WW2 its pretty clear who the bad guy was, in gundam, zeon just wanted to be free of the feddies terrible leadership
Yes Zeon wanted to be free. Oh and wat about murdering 2.8 billions Spacenoids from sides 1, 2 and 4. Oh but its ok cuz the Feddies are evil!! I fail to see how the Feddies are worse than Zeon. The feddie's "terrible" leadership, which again is not worse than a cruel dictatorship of the Zabi family, is no justification for Zeon going around and committing mass murder. The Principality clearly where the "bad guys". if u dont see that then obviously u didnt watch Mobile Suit Gundam
@wikikomoto America was not "wrong" to go to Vietnam. the only reason it was "wrong" is because public opinion soured and the rules of engagement were set as to not allow any real final victory for the US. the US could have won if the American public had let them. You cannot have politicians command an Army.
@S0N0FLIBERTY I totally agree with you on that if only we march and crush the north in first month of the war. the war would have over by than, but than again they might scare that China will get invole like back in Korean war. I believe it was not wrong.
whatever the case most UC fans should realize that Tomino created the Titans with the intention of creating a "polar opposite" of Zabi's Zeon. If Zabi's Zeon is an extreme application of Spacenoid freedom, then the Titans is an extreme application of Earth unity...
...both enjoyed civilian gassing and colony spamming as a hobby...well whatever side u pick just be sure to drop by my bar on Von Braun City for free Buffalo Wing Tuesdays.
well to ship buffalo wings from earth would definitely be insane...from agricultural colonies would probably be mighty expensive (and most of their production are being used to feed the populated colonies)...so i'm sure there are agricultural sectors/levels on Von Braun (if i recall correctly in gundam 0083 viewers get to see that VB is divided into many levels) that makes meat and veggies and other products cheap enough for ordinary Moonarians
I think the same too but everytime i say EFF idiots assume i mean titans, its like wow are you dumb they didnt exist during the 1 year war, they always say EFF is bad because of the titans lol.
Care to show any proof? I do recall one picture from MS ERA, yes google it, where it in fact mentions Zeon suppressing one of their OWN colonies. U sure u didn't mix them up?
MS IGLOO = WW2: director's cut.

Besides the HLV, another realistic issue is the strength of the spaceships' armor.
In MSIGLOO, ONE shot from another ship and it is BOOOOOOOM! for the whole ship.
This is extremely inconsistent with other media I saw. Come on, the Muzai should be able to take some 5 hits before going BOOM, at LEAST.

They are essential reusable rockets, and that's realistic, but moving like a flying saucer just makes anyone scratch their head.
spiderlok 1 year ago
@GreatWagersOfAnime Partly agree.
Agree? =]

Once the gundam is mass produce the zekkes will lose.
BlackAce1229 1 year ago
@BlackAce1229 there were only 12 gundams, not including the RX-78-2, the ground type were the only mass produced
i believe you mean the GM
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@wikikomoto The gms are the mass production version of the gundam.

@BlackAce1229 ...but once the Big Zam IS MASS PRODUCED, ZEON WILL WIN THE WAR
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@BlackAce1229 If they do mass produce gundam than they won't be fun. it will be easy victory, and there no point watching it than if they win so easy.
aiaek 1 year ago
A Gundam is only as good as the person who pilots that and believe me, I've seen the 08th MS Team and 3 Gundams had a hard time taking down a Zaku.
swordimpulse07 1 year ago
@swordimpulse07 well to be fair, those were mass produced gundams, the actuall RX-78 took out 2 zakus with next to no effort by the pilot in the first episode of 0079, amuro didnt even know how to make the damn thing stand up
wikikomoto 1 year ago 3
@wikikomoto
HammerOfHeresies 1 year ago
@wikikomoto To also be fair don't forget 0080 where a Zaku II Kai took out the RX-78NT which was an upgraded Gundam meant for Amuro. The RX-78 is definitely stronger than the average zaku of 0079 cause they were built before mobile suits existed and the pilots had no experience battling enemy mobile suits. If Char had fought to the death when he first battled Amuro he would of destroyed the Gundam with his Zaku because Amuro was out of beam energy but Char played it safe not knowing its limits.
TekkaSage 1 year ago
@TekkaSage not to mention he did it with just a heat hawk and no firearm, also keep in mind that the pilot of the zaku II FZ was a n00b and had never even gotten a kill beforehand
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@wikikomoto UC is nice cause the Gundams tend not to be god-like. Sure, they are strong and elite in nature of design but with the right pilot and tactics can be over come even by the grunts if there isn't a great pilot using the Gundam. At times even that doesn't help but that's what makes it more realistic and exciting.
TekkaSage 1 year ago
@TekkaSage Don't forget that Char also toyed with the Gundam in the first episodes if I'm not misstaking.

I feel sad an nostalgic watching this. Zeon should have won, not necessarily the Zabi's. But us spacenoids need our Independence from those tied to gravity. Seig Zeon!!!!

If i remember well in Girhen's Greed, there was ending in witch Zeon won the war. And that was the best possibility for every one.
Sieg Zeon!
Ranalcus 1 year ago
@Ranalcus well the feddies ARE actually the bad guys..
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@wikikomoto I was talking about:
Gihren's Greed:Perfect victory
and
Gihren's Greed:Superior Race -Victory of Zeon-
And it's war. In war there aren't any good-or-bad guys, only the ones who won the war and created History about that.
Ranalcus 1 year ago
@Ranalcus well thats different, thats mostly just when america is involved, like viet nam, when they were clearly in the wrong, or the war right now... but in WW2 its pretty clear who the bad guy was, in gundam, zeon just wanted to be free of the feddies terrible leadership
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@wikikomoto
The Principality clearly where the "bad guys". if u dont see that then obviously u didnt watch Mobile Suit Gundam
dommy531 1 year ago
@wikikomoto America was not "wrong" to go to Vietnam. the only reason it was "wrong" is because public opinion soured and the rules of engagement were set as to not allow any real final victory for the US. the US could have won if the American public had let them. You cannot have politicians command an Army.
S0N0FLIBERTY 1 year ago
@S0N0FLIBERTY I totally agree with you on that if only we march and crush the north in first month of the war. the war would have over by than, but than again they might scare that China will get invole like back in Korean war. I believe it was not wrong.

wikikomoto 1 year ago
whatever the case most UC fans should realize that Tomino created the Titans with the intention of creating a "polar opposite" of Zabi's Zeon. If Zabi's Zeon is an extreme application of Spacenoid freedom, then the Titans is an extreme application of Earth unity...
...both enjoyed civilian gassing and colony spamming as a hobby...well whatever side u pick just be sure to drop by my bar on Von Braun City for free Buffalo Wing Tuesdays.
redDL89 1 year ago 14
@redDL89 on von braun? the price to ship buffalo there would be insane... i dont even WANT to know how much your prices are when its not a tuesday
wikikomoto 1 year ago
@wikikomoto
well they do have agriculture sectors on the moon and on other colonies...food isnt just solely grown on earth.
redDL89 1 year ago
@redDL89
well to ship buffalo wings from earth would definitely be insane...from agricultural colonies would probably be mighty expensive (and most of their production are being used to feed the populated colonies)...so i'm sure there are agricultural sectors/levels on Von Braun (if i recall correctly in gundam 0083 viewers get to see that VB is divided into many levels) that makes meat and veggies and other products cheap enough for ordinary Moonarians

@ralphyboy1 the titans are really just what the feddies were like before the one year war, this is why zeon wanted indapendance

ok? I wasnt talking to you quit giving me your biased opinions your as bad as a republican.
