No, you have a gap of about 8 weeks, then they tighten, the more times you have them tightened, the brace layout will change, elastic band, different wires, etc...

it doesn't hurt, its just a tad uncomfortable at the time, afterwards your teeth aren't sore or sensitive at all like it is with getting the brace tightened, so dont worry about it :)

you could, but i don't think (unless you asked for them) you'd get them, if the missing tooth doesn't interfere or mess up the position of the other more visible teeth then i wouldn't consider it. it would be a lot of hassle, money and pain to sort something that may not have been neccessary. however, if your other teeth are affected then there's nothing stopping you! my teeth have never looked better, my gaps closed - i got braces to close the gap - so i'm happy! x

well i'd advise you to stop flossing (as hard as it may seem) for at LEAST a few days...you wont be doing your teeth any good by putting yourself in pain like that, no matter how easy it is to cope with. I would stop flossing until you can no longer feel pain from your braces. shouldnt be too long :) x
