but this was done to give it a much more latin feel to it so far that they did make it different a lot from the cd cover version which has backin`vocals from Daughtry members

Daughtry's vocals are amazing, and if Joe Elliot ever left Def Leppard, Chris should replace him in a heartbeat, but the backing band BLOWS ASS!!!!!!!! Carlos tried to make it his own jazz-fusion which sounds great on his own music, but leave this hard rock alone! I expected way more!

Def Leppard obviously gave permission for them to do this song, and keep in mind that it is only a live version. It in no way will sound like this on the album. And don't think Def Leppard and all classic rock with leave the world. Many still LOVE it!

Wow. I Love Carlos, Dont know much about Daughtry. I am one of the biggest fans of cover music. I love to hear different versions of a great song. But this one I would not put on any of my great covers songs disks. Just my dumb ass opinion. I think Carlos cover of Fleetwood Macs Black Magic Woman is 10 times better than Mac's version. But this one i dont hear his great guitar. Def Leppard has one of the best duo leads out there, today or yesterday Name me two better leads than Collen & Campbell.

I actually like this version. And yes I am a Def Lepp fan. Sure it's not anywhere near as good as the original, but it's also not supposed to be the original. It's Santana's/Chris Daughtry's take on it. Yes the backing vocals were crap. But this is a live performance, it's not gonna be perfect. Let's wait for the studio version before we all slag this off. I personally would love to see more musicians cover DL songs! They deserve it.

I just listened to Def Leppards version live. Def sings this hard rock where Santana's version is more "swingy" or Latiney (is that a word???) Chris could have done the rock version but I like his vocals on this. I can't seem to stop watching him sing this. I likey!!!!

@catcrimsongirl, music always sounds better in person as opposed to on a camcorder... I've been to the David Letterman show, and they're definitely mixed for TV. If you're there in the audience the band doesn't sound near as good as it does on TV... the opposite is true in a concert setting as this is. Now if this was televised, I'd suspect they'd have a separate mix all together for the television audience.
