The fact that the video camera was proven to not have been a violation of the statue, then the arrest was false and that all evidence collected (other camera/cell phones) should be suppressed do to the fact that the officers made an illegal arrest in the first place. Plus remember to never give consent to any search. Any search committed without consent, is illegal if charged are false and all evidence will be thrown out.

I would suggest reading up on law and court procedures. Maybe sit in on other trials to get the hang of it. This is exactly why they prefer you not represent yourself, it's very time consuming for the court. If you had an attorney this would have been over in 5mins or less.

Other than that, you handled yourselves fairly well. I'd still suggest a lawyer in the actual trial, though, and NOT a court-appointed one.

So the judge was saying the charge could stand to go to trial if he determines the charge was brought upon probable cause - which in this case would be the false statements of police involved saying that your phone was hidden. If it is determined later (in a trial) with the video evidence that these cops falsified the report and illegally brought charges on you I would guess they may actually get into some trouble and face charges of their own. Depends on the judge, but that would be great :)
