  • super mario rpg for snes!!!! plus, my older brother would NEVER let me play (i had to do it in secret) so that whole "can't have it but i want it" factor came into play :P

  • When i was about 7-8 years old my dad bought a ps1 and resident evil 1 to go with it. nough said!

  • Check out my Ratchet and Clank review! And please Subscribe!

  • pokemon red and blue + green gameboy color = my life

  • This isnt how i got into vdieo games in genral but how i got into my favorite series "Sonic The Hedgehog." when i was a kid a went to a kids dentsit office that was soo cool it had a mini aracde. I think i was 4 or 5 and i went up to the sega genensis when down the list of games and saw it... Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I loved the speed and songs. Sure i died many times but my motor skill were not to my currnt level yet. Other games i playe were Aldadin, Cool Spot, and Wave Race 64 in later years.

  • I've had insomnia for all my life, Gameing has kept me sane over the years xD.

But the game I'm crediting as making me hooked is Clash at Demonhead for the NES. I actually still have my complete copy from way back when. Good times........Good times......

  • I think what got me into gaming was when I was 6 years old and my father had bought the Nes and I had mistaken it as some random toy in my house... so I played it and I was like zomg Mario... so I was absessed with platforming games until I was like 11 and then after RPGs and shooters came out I was hooked :P

  • i like really got hooked on gameing was mortal kombat trilogy for the ps1 and mortal kombat 1 for the snes i got both systems and both games the same day for christmas

  • what got me into playing games was my big bro had sega, nitendo and he used to play alot so one day i tried it and i enjoyed it, next day i bourgh all my little friends and we were playing in my bro's bedroom all day llooll my bro didn't mind since he only play during night and sleep most of the day lol

  • I guess I could say it was Sonic 2. It was the very first game I ever played. I definitely played it a lot, but I still wasn't a huge fan of games.

Then a few years later, I got a Game Boy Pocket, and Pokemon along with it. I had never been addicted to anything before that, but it definitely hooked me in.

So yes, Pokemon got me into gaming. :p

  • For me it was when my cousin let me play N64 for a day. Everyone then bought a PS2, and everyone had it including my cousins, friends, and family members, after 4 months of non-stop chores and bottle collecting I bought my PS2 and forgot to buy a game for it. Good thing my cousin bought me a game and gave it to me as a present because he knew i was saving up for the PS2. Good times, good times.

  • My mom had a texas instrument that she had in college. I found it in the attic and was hooked on hunt the wampus and some space invaders knock off I think I was 3 but I maybe wrong anyone else ever play a texas instument? from there I went to snes and never looked back.

  • My sister had just bought a sega genesis and my brother had an NES and i had no system. So i started to play sonic 1 on my sisters genesis and found that i was quite good at it. But the thing that really got me into it was when my brother let me try his megeman 6. Everything went up hill from there. lol

  • Wow Vanessa, your story about FFVIII is almost exactly the same as mine! When I saw FFVIII at a friend's house (I was 9 or so) I totally freaked out because that was the first RPG game I saw and I couldn't believe that you could travel around a world map. :O and TALK to people in the games. xD It seems ridiculous now but I was so amazed that people could make games like that. Oh yeah, and I was also amazed at the realistic graphics. Funny, the graphics were so much more realistic in my memory...

  • I would have to say i got hooked onto video games when my brother found the old SNES.

she found Excite bike, and a few other games.

I love excite bike, and i was playing it nonstop. i was only about 4 or 5 years old at the time, and i say: Excite Bike is probably one of my fav retro games ever!

  • One of these did . . .

Counter-Strike: Source. I remember creating maps for the game with a random kid who also played it every day in Biology class in my freshmen year. We were stupid lol.

Final Fantasy 8 --I had extra birthday money and I went to a toy store with my parents. It was 20 dollars, I had 20, so I bought it and wanted to be Squall for awhile. =D

  • w00t!

who needs school when youve got vid games!!!

  • When I was around 4 or 5, My parents and I went to Sears and they bought me an Atari 2600 Jr with Donkey Kong JR. I had no idea what video games were. Of course this would be the beginning of an addiction. You could say Donkey Kong JR was my gateway drug.

  • I suppose it was probably Super Mario Bros. 2. Some kids of my mom's friend had an NES, and I think I remember watching them play the Mario games and Duck Hunt, but Mario 2 is the one that stands out in my memory. It sucked because the kids picked on me and didn't let me play.

Eventually, probably a year or so later, my uncle gave me a used NES for my birthday with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt and Mario 3. Mario 3 would be the game that hooked its claws into me.

  • my big brothers had been playing games since before i was born, so ive always been around them. but the defining moment when i knew i was hooked on games was when i was around four years old and i played starwing (starfox) on the snes. i just couldn't believe what i was playing. it was magical.

  • I caught the gaming bug when I was about 3 years old (at least, that's the first memory I have of it). My grandmother (who is now in a her late 60s and still plays) had a NES, and I would spend hours upon hours playing Super Mario Bros. with her and my dad. My mom, who was never into actually playing the games would sit and watch us, and it became a real family bonding experience.

  • What got me ooked on gaiming was when my buddy braught over silent hill 2,we beat it 4 times in a row just so we can get every ending, I still play the game till this day. thats what got me hooked!!

  • My friend and I went to a midnight release of Oblivion back in the day. He also had to get a 360 but I got it on PC.

  • That's what got you into video games?

  • No, that's the craziest thing I've done for video games.

What got me into games was playing Alex Kid on the Sega Master System. I used to get up extra early in the morning, like 2-3 o'clock to play it before school. Because my parents always had the TV at home before school. I think I liked playing games becouse the other kids teased me so much.

  • What got me hooked to video games was when i was 7 years old, i used to sit in my living room and watch my aunt play Zelda: A Link To The Past all day. I thought it was the coolest game i have ever seen. However, she never let me play it. So one day when she was at work, i loaded it up, was so pumped to play it, but i erased her file by accident. I then spent the entire day trying to get back to the point she was at, but, that never happened. I never knew women could get so mad ^_^

  • The competativeness of shooters got me hooked big time, and when online gaming first came onto the scene omg i was totaly home bound lol

the first game i ever played that got me totaly hooked was the the old snes game ithink it is...james pond XD a running shooting gunning cod fish :P badass

  • my neighbors uncle who lived with them had a genesis with sonic 1 and mortal kombat 1 but what really got me into gaming was playing the original spyro

  • For me it was I heard the Super Mario Bros Deluxe theme. So i went over to my sister and took the Gameboy Color off her and started too play. I was hooked on games!

  • I got into gaming with my parents' Atari 2600. My favorite games were Combat which is the first game I ever remember playing and an ancient spaceship shooter called Vanguard. Like a lot of people though video games didn't become that important to me until the original Super Mario Bros. came out and changed everything.

  • For me my entry point into gaming was the good old Atari 2600. I wasted hours playing Adventure, which is amazing considering you play a block with no conceivable storyline. I was never really hooked though until I moved on later to the ZX Spectrum and played Dan Dare and Hong Kong Phooey, I loved those two games and still play the same two copies I owned back then today.

  • Great question. Along time ago me and my cousin discovered an atari in my house..it actually belonged to my Grandpa and we found his stash of games. We then grew to play pac man and space invaders. Then around that time the NES came out which then pushed us into the gaming world forever. We played Mario Bros., Dunk Hunt and The Legend of Zelda. Later we grew farther apart...a last the end of a relationship...he left me for a girl... and i was left with my games. To be continued....

  • The thing that got me really into games was Sim City...

My mother would always leave the SNES on over night to let her city build itself, and I would sneak in and send tornadoes, monsters, and a bunch of other destructive items in the game on her city. So my parents got me bomber man....

  • what got me into gaming was that my cousin had a super nintendo back in nam. i was 2 and i was rockin mortal kombat 2 and super mario world! my mom refused to buy me a console until the n64. she didnt want to buy me one because she saw how violent mk2 was :P

  • Yeah all that gore and blood : )

  • Another great vid
