I used 10 oz duck-cloth from my local fabric store. I think canvas drop clothes would be too thick. With the 4 I have made and used for three year now) the canvas has never failed. Good luck,.
Great vid! I've been thinking about making a 12 ft version of this for a while (I'm a big guy). What did you use for the canvas? Do you think a heavy canvas drops cloth would work?
Yeah, supplies will be bare essentials type stuff, may go ahead and do the 10', although I saw on the plans I downloaded 14' have been successfull. Well when it warms up Ill let you know how it went. Thanks for the video.
3-5 day?!? Well as long as there is NO white water with should be fine BUT it is very small. Not a lot of room for supplies. I would definitely recommend finding 10 foot plywood like the original plans call for. If you do it please let me know how it went.
Im looking to make a kayak to take a 3-5 day river float and was wanting to make my own. How do you think it would act on a moving river? (No big white water or anything)

YES! In Big Bear lake they actually charge me $45 per Kayak per year. Total sucks to have to layout $180 to take all 4 out the first time.
